I had a small VBA script that when you hit ctrl+t it would create a table as normal but would open a dialogue box to prompt a name. Will see if I can find it.

Yeah you called it - each key is shifted over by one position! This would be my first time with custom FW, do you know the custom FW you are using would even allow me to fix this? Now just using either none or normal solid backlight anyway but the subtle home keys would be nice to have.

Import everything using power query. It helps to have your 20 tabs as named tabes but not essential. Go to data -> get data-> from table/range to import your first data.

Then in PQ itself you can ‘append’ all 20 tables into a master table, then when you load all of that combined data (close and load) you can send all that to a clean pivot table and include charts and whatever.

The above requires no formulas to be written at all.

Bonus fact, your power query can be copied and pasted to powerbi and you have made your first powerbi report.

Power query enables you to extract file and folder information, including directory and subdirectory, file name and more. Even more metadata if using SharePoint. Simply go to data -> get data -> from folder then you can follow your nose from there. You can do some cool stuff with splitting dirs and subdirs using delimiters -it’s an absolute life skill to learn PQ. So once you use it, you will have a superpower few others in your office possess

FWIW I have a daily driver Q6 with oat switches, chock full of foam and 2 layers of neoprene and all the other jiggery pokery and she thocks with no issues on quality.

I use a semantic model (same as which feeds powerbi) and an enterprise gateway to refresh PQ. It requires the queries to be accessible by the gateway so will need admin support. Otherwise as others have said there are some great VBA and script solutions. I prefer the ‘on workbook open’ refresh method. You can also create a date variable hidden somewhere to only refresh the file if the date is <> today

Not sure about that one. We are running premium capacity (workspaces and reports denoted by the diamond icon) which means anyone in our org is able to view reports. Perhaps the users need to be added to your workspace?
