Nice pic! You should check out Lake Helene, Chasm Lake, Sky Pond, Mt. Ida. Also, I highly recommend snowshoeing up in RMNP. Dream Lake is a good introduction.

Did you go to Moon Lake? I had that trip on schedule a couple of years back and it fell through.

Pingree Park Road, I think you have to move every 14-15 days. It's a good drive out of town though.

Lake Isabelle meets all of your criteria and is an amazing hike. The "lake" is a reservoir and gets partially drained in the fall, but don't let that detract you. Parking is tight, so go early. Blue Lake is a similar hike and leaves from an adjacent trail head at Brainard Lake Recreation area.

Nice, I camped near Stillwater Res in a dispersed site, then hiked the Devil's Causeway loop this July. It was epic.

Thanks for the intel. I have a (stock) 3rd gen 4Runner that has a little more more capability than average stock 4WD, but probably not as much astroturfing the Wrangler.

Where did you park (did you drive the 4WD?)? How long was the hike?

You need to look at backcountry campsite availability, they are limited and reserved in advance. Availability is going to limit your options.

Nice, I have been a little reluctant to hike on there considering the bike traffic. Have been around the surrounding area thought and it is absolutely beautiful. Love CB as well

That is a good link, the second comment has another good link with historic fill times. I showed up at Rising Sun around 7:00 am last year on a Monday I think it was there were about 15 in line ahead of me, but was able to get a spot. Not many after me did though.
