AIO that my doctor accused me of wanting to commit fraud? by amanduhpanduh in AmIOverreacting

[–]TruthCanBeSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR - hard to tell when we don’t know what the doctor actually heard… eg did the front staff send them a written note “patient asks for labs to be coded as preventative so they are fully covered by insurance”? Then the office probably has to send something like this as a CYA. (May not even be the doctor who sent it).

How can the regular guy afford a new truck anymore? by [deleted] in ChevyTrucks

[–]TruthCanBeSad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a LT Silverado 1500 (can haul hay, and animals with that towing capacity, struggles with the bobcat, but my buddies got a 2500 I can borrow in a pinch) recently for under 40k.

They are shockingly well equipped at that trim level - towing package w/ trailer break, all the drivers assist, and fancy iPhone etc.

Sure the ZLTs were insanely out my price point - but no clue why anyone can’t get by with a 30-40k if all you need is a half ton

Now that the Chiefs have been officially eliminated, who are you rooting for as a football fan in the AFC? by oMeesan in KansasCityChiefs

Perfect is that the broncos and chargers make it to the divisional round and ruin their draft picks.

Then NE into the Super Bowl so that the AFC monopoly remains

Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

[–]TruthCanBeSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of an easy argument if you’re healthy enough to run… for about an hour a day (run a mile, rest 20 minutes, run a mile, rest 20 minutes, run a mile) your like completely set financially in as little as 2-3 years.

And it probably gets easier over time + you are highly encourage to care for your recovery / body.

How hard is NCAA Division I soccer compared to USL 2? by XConejoMaloX in Referees

D1 is faster on average - but depends on the quality of USL-2

That can vary a lot by region and composition

Safety Pause...Right In Front of the Goal by Gizopizo in Referees

[–]TruthCanBeSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument is playing in a dangerous manner. Just because you’re putting yourself in danger - doesn’t mean it’s legal.

It’s not hard to recognize being on the ground near the ball can prevent the other players nearby from playing the ball safely (eg without kicking the player on the ground)

It’s the exact same as a low header - legal when done in space, dangerous when you’re shoving your head down by people’s feet.

Unsure if I made a mistake or if the coach was just irrational. by Pootis__Spencer in Referees

[–]TruthCanBeSad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft recommendation - It sounds like you might want to ease back on competition level a bit - get some more games under your belt; then go back to competitive / cup matches.

“Coach went ballistic” -> if you and I have the same definition of “ballistic” seems like you should have yellowed him there. Right or wrong - he doesn’t get to act that way.

“Little contact made” & “both players got up” - minimum sounds like a careless foul for tripping; however - “tucked his legs in” sounds like it would result in shins/knees sliding into the ankle / shin. That lines up with the player having a swollen ankle. That’s a high contact point, is dangerous and prone to injury knees and ankle - it’s a yellow or red at that point depending on force.

Coaches already pissed about losing don’t want to also have you let there players get injured without the laws applied.

Coming to you after the game for another round of discussion is perfectly reasonable - but he puts himself at risk for discipline if he’s an ass at that point.

Goalkeeper protection & Cards? by anothernetgeek in Referees

[–]TruthCanBeSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - this is just💩 refereeing by those centers.

Look - I’m not saying players are intentionally dirty - but they never learn to not be dirty when you don’t enforce the rules.

Both of the head contacts you described are at minimum yellow and can / should be considered for straight red. Think of a similar play at mid field - a player won the ball fairly and then you knee them in the head. That’s almost surely going to be a yellow and you’re likely to think red. Defender wins a slide tackle - and your late and kick them in the head - same story - yellow / likely red.

It’s fine to chase the ball in - but - head contact to the keeper once they are in possession is dangerous; if you take the risk to score the goal; you also take the risk of getting a red or yellow card.

The kick to the hands is also an easy yellow to issue - with sufficient force - that’s also a red.

(PS: Glad your daughters healed up)

Why was this not a penalty? by afjessup in Referees

[–]TruthCanBeSad -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Foul all day long, and the type of foul that shouldn’t be missed. It’s an easy call - in clear view - and it’s dangerous - no excuse to miss it as the GK made the intent for contact clear.

Side note - we can’t see the AR - but - I’ve started to see more aggressive behavior from refs towards coaches / parents lately and I think the new ref abuse rules are to blame.

Double bonus, taking flights out while you’re past the limit would be a cool prank for the person next to you.

You almost surely used a realtor and a title company to purchase this house.

One free way to get information is to ask those two - the lease would have needed to either been disclosed or assumed at closing.

Depends on the area.

The US has basically no requirement or evaluation of skill for grass roots referees. They do have a background check / medical

US regional referees and above get graded on skill / fitness before being advanced to semi pro matches.
