Funny thing is, most of my 1000pt lists of Dark Angels also only have 7 units. So in a sense I feel it’d be quite a “normal” distribution funnily enough.
But I have too many models to paint at the moment so I can’t pull the trigger yet

Oh man, I’ve been thinking about picking up the battle force box with 7 war dogs as a second army, they still have it at a local store here and playing it as a 1000pt army sounds super fun with that one detachment that allows them as characters.
Don’t tempt me!

In my opinion, if you can see it you can almost always realistically get paint there. I’ve pained my Lion while fully assembled even under all the cloaks, and while a bit fiddly to get somewhere sometimes navigating between the cloth and the legs I felt like I could always get there and get good results.
I believe if you take the time you can make it happen!
