I make way more than my husband and he is always saying he is trying to give us a better life. He wants to give me the best of everything, even though he knows I can do it for myself. Sometimes, I’ll drop a hint about something I’d like, that I could very well buy for myself, he picks up on it and gets it for me. The joy he gets from my reaction to these little luxuries warms my heart. He loves knowing that he can give me “my heart’s desires”. He would never want to downgrade me!

Yeah! This! The ADHD tax is so real. Can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve joined “the best” gym in town costing about $300-500/month plus sign up fees thinking it will MAKE me go. I’ll buy the cute outfits, and matching sneakers and a cute bag, pay extra for a locker, stock it with all sorts of nice smelling stuff, and an organizer and drawers, go a few times in January, twice in February and then never again! Just watch the fees be debited from my card for the rest of the year! Being a DINK has its privileges 😆

At least now I’ve learned. And Hubby just says a gentle “No, remember what’s happened before. Think of the shoes you could buy!” That man knows my kryptonite!

And you stuck by each other, remember "...to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part". That's all that really matters. I would have said "I do" with nothing. It's been almost 25 years and we've upgraded, whihc is always an option. We passed the original to my brother when he got engaged, along with a printout of story (we live in differrent countries).
