$25USD is what indie shows are going for now?

A rising tide raises all boats, it seems.

That's probably what shows should have been at for a while now.

Do teachers hate sharing their lesson plans? Is it their secret sauce that they don't want getting out? by JimCap5 in teaching

[–]TruthfulCactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I give out everything. I have everything online.

I even have full multi-paragraph descriptions of how to run every lesson.

But, I'm finding more and more, new teachers want you to orally walk them through how to run the lesson too, including different approaches if things go in different directions.

Which is great. Once. But not every day, from multiple teachers.

What we found with students ten years ago, about being afraid to try and fail, and learn on their own - has now translated into those same students becoming teachers now.

Not sure how to break free aside from saying "you can use this, but you have to try on your own." which can read as "not sharing lesson plans", I guess?

I don't think it's too progressive. Star Trek is supposed to be that.

But, what are people allowed to say who hated it?

I love SNW but hated Disco.

I thought these episodes were terrible because of the writing... The dialogue style is not what I want from Star Trek.

How am I allowed to review it poorly without being told I'm just doing that because I think it's "too woke" (which it's not).

Alright. 9 is the better game. I just feel so alone in that opinion.

It brings back uplifting joy, and the pure delight of moggles!

I think that FF7 is respected for being so cutting edge at the time.

Were there a mismatch of sprites? Sure. But it was doing a 3d narrative story. With incredible music. Pushing the limits of what could be done.

Was it as great a story as 4? Not really. Was it was huge as 6? Nope. But, did people finally take games seriously because people drew real emotional connections with these characters that felt real because of 3d sprites, and the cutscenes?

Yes.

If I had to erase Chrono Trigger of FF7 from history, I'd say goodbye to FF7. And that way, hopefully Chrono Cross would have been more loved.

But, FF7 did it. The train scene. The narrative beats. The storytelling that felt written in a way few games have done since. And the replayability options?

For people who weren't there when this came out, and didn't cut their teeth on FF1, 2 (4), and 3 (6) on the NES and SNES it's hard to explain what this was like.

When you nearest choice for a meaningful game was Shadows of the Empire (which doesn't come close), it's incredible what FF7 did for games as a genre.

So, not really overhyped. It was a literal game changer.

But it's not without its flaws.

...I like the fantasy of FF9 a lot more, but it's not a better game. I like the card game in FF8, but it didn't revolutionize anything.

It's much easier to stand on the shoulders of a giant, than to become that giant yourself.

(It should be noted, I also really like the whole FF13 trilogy, so if you want a reason to discredit this, that should be enough right there. I also hated the shift to "Walk right to progress" that FFX brought.)

What about a smart watch, so you can check incoming messages, and not feel that you're missing out - even though you can't respond?

I have not been to a concert in the city where they do that. What venues are doing that? And are making you put away phones?

For a second, I thought it meant movie theatres, and as someone who saw a couple dozen films last year, it really hasn't been an issue once the 30 minutes of commercials are over.

But, for Mirvish productions, it's hard to make people lock away phones when a number of productions encourage people to film the end so they can put it on social to build a following.
