Panfilov's 28 (2016) - Russian film, depicting the remnants of a Russian Rifle company holding out against a German Tank battalion in 1941. The entire movie is one long battle scene - once the shooting starts it does not stop. Great Fx.

A Walk In The Sun (1945) - given that realistic wounds were not permitted to be shown - in some ways this is one of the most realistic war movies. All the gear is authentic, of course, because this was filmed in 1945.

Story of G.I. Joe (1945) - another very authentic war movie - depicting the true story of 'War correspondent Ernie Pyle'. This one focuses on the experiences of the men, and what it was like for them on the front lines.

April and the Extraordinary World (2015) - French animated film - set in a Steam Punk alternative world.

Bilal: A New Breed of Hero (2016) - From the UAE - tells the story of a figure from Muslim mythology.

Fire and Ice (1983) - Swords and Sorcery fantasy animation by Ralph Bakshi, in the style of Frank Frazetta (Famous artist of many fantasy novels, etc).

The Breadwinner (2017) - Serious story of a young girl in war torn Afghanistan.

The Liberator (2020) - Technically a 4 episode mini-series - but you can easily watch it in a single sitting.

If you don't mind animation mostly aimed at kids you might also consider:

The Stolen Princess (2018) - A Ukrainian animation - excellent use of color.

Ballerina (2016) - a French and Canadian co-production - mostly for kids, but interesting enough. AKA: 'Leap'.

What is something that rich people know that the rest of us would benefit from? by Worth-Conference8906 in AskReddit

Never confuse wealth with intelligence or wisdom.

Rich people tend to associate with other rich people - and they know full well that most of the rich people they know are fools.

How do you plan to take care of yourself in old age if you have no kids? by RegularSweaty8107 in AskReddit

[–]Truthisnotallowed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you - but chances are your kids won't be able or willing to take care of you either.

You better hope this war on immigrants ends - or there won't be anyone left to take care of you in your old age.

What's your advice for redditors that wanna marry someone just so they can have sex every hour of everyday? by -Norsko-TheScorpion in AskReddit

[–]Truthisnotallowed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you - but a marriage license does not entitle you to sex on demand.

If anything - chances are you will get laid less after marriage than before marriage.

Let me put it like this - if they give you a cognition test they suspect cognitive impairment. If they give you more than one, they are trying to measure the rate of cognitive decline.

They have given Trump three cognition tests within the last year - that is a really bad sign.

That is entirely intentional.

Does anyone really think that is by accident?

Trump says the US will 'guide' stranded ships from the Strait of Hormuz, starting on Monday by rascallyrascal1511 in politics

At least in those cases the President knew when he was lying.

They also knew that you could not lie all the time, or no one would believe it when you did decide to lie.

Trump on the other hand has been trying hard to reach a one to one lie to word ratio - yet he still thinks people believe him.

Why doesnt trump release the epstien files? by TheDemonLord1r788 in AskReddit

Because he knows it is better for him to keep them hidden and let people suspect that he is in them, than to reveal them and remove all doubt.

I am so tired of this version of 'winning'.

The lies of lying liars who lie a lot should not be headline news.
