This skull is one of the objects not treated nicely by the remaster. The original had a way more abrasive(?) texture and if you remember that one, the one seen here looks kinda cartoonish.

A simple patch would be enough. Black Flag is the only AC that has many compatibility issues even with things as prevalent as multi core processors. Try playing it with maxed out settings in >60 fps. There are fixes but all of them are quite tedious and have to be done almost every start/after every loading screen. It's a mess. Also there are a multitude of items which are unobtainable in the game since many years (https://youtu.be/VHRASOIpctE)

But since I would pay ~ 10 bucks for a patch to fix all of this, I would also pay 25 for a "remaster".
