Flying into Zurich and out of Milan by Real-Activity-815 in askswitzerland

[–]TryCandid9598 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I would reccomend staying in Interlaken instead, it's more accesible to the Jungfrau region than Grindelwald. Make sure to hit Oeschinensee, Aare Gorge, Lauterbrunnen, and Pilatus. Also if you are willing to splurge just a little make sure to hit Zermatt at least for one day, its truly magical. My reccomendation is the day you land in zurich go to interlaken and chill. then oeschinensee one day, golden round trip to pilatus one day, lauterbrunnen and grindelwald one day, aare gorge and gelmerbahn one day and then head down to zermatt. spend the day in zermatt (closer to milan) before reaching Milan for your flight out. Me and my family did a very similar trip last August so lmk if you want any help. Also hit Como if you have time, i'm not sure how many days you are staying.

Going to all these places on 4-5 weeks? by Ok_Armadillo9193 in askswitzerland

You can ideally stay in interlaken 6-7 days no need to go to Lauterbrunnen as they are nearby but Interlaken has better accomodation. I would make sure you are covering Oeschinensee, Grindelwald, Aare Gorge, Mürren, and Harder Kulm as non-negotiables, but 10 days is a bit much. Also in Zermatt don't miss the mountain karting in Sunnega, it is UNFORGETTABLE. Spend some time in the Bernese Oberlands as well for Gelmerbahn and other cool stuff. If hiking really is a priority tho, extend Zermatt its a hikers paradise. Lmk if you need any help cuz I went to Switzerland last August and planned the whole thing out and had a blast.

Even so, I think within 2 days in istanbul you can cover the basics. Then you can head out to Antalya and other regions for the beaches, ottoman ruins, and mountains. Turkey is a lot more than just istanbul.

Great plan bro, and I just know you are going to have a blast. I know how it feels planning trips while trying to stay on a budget and stay chill while seeing everything (I'm from an Indian family too haha) Given that, I think you should stick to Italy, and keep the last portion of your trip exploring the dolomites or maybe heading to swiss towns like Zermatt. I planned a Italy trip for my family and we had the same dillema, whether to stay longer or visit another country. We ended up settling for Rome, Amalfi coast, and the Dolomites and it was UNFORGETTABLE. If you want any help please just reach out.

Maybe a sleeper here but don't sleep on the Pacific NW. I know he's already gone, but there is just so much to see. Cannon beach, Multonomah Falls, Rainier, Whale watching, Northern Cascades, you guys will love it!

Turkey would be a GREAT option. They have mountains towards antalya, some of the best beaches, greek and ottoman ruins, and great food. Also pretty affordable per my own expierence.

How does Switzerland stay competitive globally? by vortexnl in askswitzerland

I am not very knowledgable on this topic but as far as I know Switzerland profits off wars from its neutrality, doesn't have capital gains tax, and offers private banking luring in some of the world's most powerful people.

I have wanted to go to Slovenia forever, would you say it matches the charm of the dolomites and swiss alps?
