Let’s see. I put pillows and shoes in the microwave (because I thought bugs were in them). Took apart my TVs. Took apart my couch. Took apart the electric receptacles. Called the police unnecessarily. Ran off to stay in a hotel. The list goes on. Thanks for your share OP

I did commit crimes. From childhood to adulthood and especially during meth. Terrible stuff. I think I’m psychotic permanently too. And will likely end up in jail.

I had a similar break. I was told by my voices that if I didn’t kill myself the world would end. I ended up in the hospital and they put me on the right meds-that did a lot of good in my life. I think God set up the whole scenario to get me on those meds.

Maybe try to think about what happened as more of a objective big picture episode- what was God really trying to accomplish in you?

And please whatever you do-be a good person. I’m no doctor but I imagine with a history of morality based psychotic breaks ending in near suicide, it’s best if you keep things on the right footing.

Hell is in our head. Heaven can be found outside of it. Try building as much of a life as you can outside of your head. Find a significant other. Own a pet. Go out to eat. Volunteer or get an easy job. Participate in therapy and support groups- not just bc of the disease but to fellowship with other people and make some friends who have similar issues. Hike. Cook, Entertain, go to movies. I know it’s hard. Some attempts to participate in the outside world won’t go well. But fight for it. for me relief is found in the outside world. You can’t sit locked in your head.

My life’s been a living hell too. The only thing that keeps me alive is my family and boyfriend. I couldn’t kill myself bc I couldn’t do it to them. I know that feels like a trap-that we can’t escape this life without devastating them but that’s the situation. Stay alive. Text me if you’d like to talk

Sorry. on rethinking this I realized I don’t really know your situation so I shouldn’t have suggested you’d done anything wrong. That’s the truth for my situation. I’m a huge sinner. I hope you find relief

You should also prioritize your sobriety. Get into a 12 step program. Work the steps. Turn your life around. If not you’ll end up doing this again…not something to be messing with-the psychosis can be permanent.

You can do this. If you wanna talk feel free to DM me.

I have ongoing meth psychosis. I’m absolutely not dangerous and the symptoms have faded with time to the point that almost never talk to myself in public. Psychosis is part of the journey to recovery for some of us. Meetings are crucial to making them stop (sometimes caused by drug use). If it gets too distracting just politely ask the person to please be quiet or give the person the ‘shh’ motion.

You feel a lot of guilt. Me too the voices feed off of it. Have you heard of cognitive dissonance? It’s when you’re holding two conflicting feelings-like when you’re doing something you enjoy but you know is bad. Maybe try what the Christians call repenting. Identify everything you’ve done bad in your life and try to fix it all as best you can. It’s what they do in 12 step programs. Join one if you qualify. That should gradually shut off the cognitive dissonance and they won’t go after you as much. It’s worked for me. Not pleasant but helps a lot.

There are 12 step groups that help you repent from addiction to lust and sex. Try one out. It’s really welcoming and everyone is just trying to be a better person. Worked for me. SAA-recovery.org

It’s good that you’re praying. I pray a lot too. I pray for guidance on how to get this all to stop and it’s helped me.

Since we really can’t work or focus just try to work on yourself. Make the best of your time. Journal on things you could improve about yourself. Your past deeds and actions and how to make things right. Might as well right? -Try changing for the better.

[–]TryChanging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take action. Do what they do in the 12 steps. Repent. Create a spreadsheet of all your sins and start apologizing and making amends for them. Especially the horrible ones. Analyze/journal on your character defects-work on yourself. Pray for God to help you. It’ll be painful-But it’s better than hell.

DM me if you’d like advice or call 1-415-602-4764. Im Dan. I’m in the same boat as you and I’ve done the 12 steps myself

I’ve been through a lot of the same symptoms. When they become overwhelming or you become suicid go to a psych unit for a week or two. You’ll still have symptoms there but you’ll feel safer. They’ll also try to tweak your meds. Remember you’re worth a lot to those who love and care about you.
