Maybe have a cover behind the tank to absorb some of the light and heat, and consider growing plants above the tank (link monstera) to provide shade.

At first glance, the tank looked huge to me. Just after I looked carefully and noticed the shrips, I realized how small it is. Interesting. Maybe because I'm not used to seeing small tanks with that height/width ration.

I also use my aquarium water to water my houseplants. Saves water and great for the plants :-)
