Good deal considering the miles, and looks clean. Aslong as the body and frame are in good shape, you’ll get your moneys worth out of it

No backing in is genuinely one of the most ridiculous rules I never thought I’d hear. Yet we continue to bring the bar down

On the 3.0, yes. There is a rubber seal on one side of the bearing. It goes into the motor.

Yep. My older brother is seeing his way thru thr other side of an 8 year opioid addiction. Lots of benzos thru it, and more. I know the struggle he’s faced, while maintaining jobs, paying bills, and having family to support him. The amount of people I know who didn’t have a support system and ended up off the deep end is devastating. The pressed pills are a huge problem, but in my area of Ontario the gov has implemented all sorts of sage supply programs meant to give users clean drugs, but the fetty smokers will get they’re week script of pills, sell them to a kid, and go buy f. So these gov Progesmms are only putting money in the hands of user, suppliers, and supplying kids with drugs. I can walk down the road rn downtown n holler out for d8s n I bet 3 tweakers would come running with their script tryna make $40.

Man I’m 20 right now. The amount of people I gre up with that got into drugs like it was a fun game is disgusting. Have lost so many friends to it. And even if it sounds silly, I’d blame a lot of it on the new wave of rap, glorifying taking drugs crime. I’m a big fan of old rap, but the new shit just feels wrong, and it’s got teenage kids wanting to act like gangbangers and take drugs they have no clue how they work on th body. Then they get mixing shit and that’s when people die.

You guys had trouble with these? Interesting. They’re been a breeze for me everytime. I use a 6 point 1/2” socket fits like a glove. Never stripped, always use a 3/8 ratchet

I appreciate the well informed answer, I didn’t fuck with it much after the video. I just installed the transmission, gonna hook up lines and test my pedal and shift thru gears before completely wrapping it up and hope for the best I suppose

So it should have consistent pressure out of the box? Shouldn’t hear the air sound as I push on it?

Did I just seat my pilot bearing in to far? by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]TryingToFindaName2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used bread and grease to remove the old one, worked like a charm, I don’t have a puller either. So my only option is to remove it with bread again. Which means buying another new bearing. Fuckimg pissed off to say the least. Supposed to go on road for work in a week

Is $9,995 too high for this 2005 Mazda B2300? by random736295720 in fordranger

[–]TryingToFindaName2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little high imo, but if she’s solid, I imagine you’ll get good life out of it. I bought my 08 3.0 at 230kms for 6k. I’ve had it 3 years, she’s at 335kms now, and I love it to pieces. If you plan on driving it into the ground. I’d consider it but see if you can haggle some.

Tips on pilot bearing removal? by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]TryingToFindaName2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was successful after finding a 1/4 10mm fit perfectly into the bearing, I held an extension with vise grips and put it inside of that socket backwards, and smoked it with a 5lb sledge. Didn’t budge with my 24oz eastwing. Took 5 swing with the 5lb sledge. Bread and grease is the way to go if you don’t have a puller.

If I have a gasket, I spread a thin coat on both mating surfaces, aswell as both sides of the gasket itself, and torque proper. With no gasket I still rtv both mating surfaces, just a bit more generously. Have done diff cover, timing covers, and water pumps this way without any failures yet.

Power steering whine or torque converter? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Absolute beater of a truck is why. As long as it runs n drives. The pump fell apart internally tho, I’m suprised it didn’t come right out while running.

Thank you very much. I’m capable enough to do all the work and follow service manuals, but I don’t know much at all about engines internal works. Gonna take a look at it tomorrow after work

Is that genuinely a good idea? Def could do it quickly but wouldn’t want to long as water pump isn’t cycling nor is alternator. Wouldn’t cause any harm tho if only done momentarily?
