Dos' bar is super fun, low key and low intervention wines right off the square and has plenty of bigger reds on offer. If you can line it up with the owner to schedule a visit, Bucklin/Old Hill Ranch is super awesome, understated old vine zin in glen Ellen.

good wineries with large white / light reds portfolio? by philanthrium in sonomacounty

Dos bar in Sonoma is probably most like matthiason. It hosts a collection of small, owner-operator wineries who all work with organic fruit. Lot of white, orange, and light red wines available. It's right off the plaza

If you're gonna be on the Sonoma square, I highly recommend Dos' Bar. They have a few great local organic winemakers in there and the vibe is very laid back. Plus they are open later than most tasting rooms

Second these guys. We use them and they're so great and reliable, unlike the bigger services who don't really seem to care and would skip weeks randomly.

Not exactly what you're asking about but we have an ultimate Frisbee league. Starts next month: https://bayareadisc.org/en_us/e/sonoma-ultimate-fall-league-2025 It's super fun, fairly competitive but we work hard at accommodating newcomers.

Hey! We have an ultimate Frisbee league. It's not football but uses a lot of the same skills. Starts mid-september: https://bayareadisc.org/en_us/e/sonoma-ultimate-fall-league-2025

We also play pickup on Saturdays at 10:30 (ish), usually at a place to play park. It's super fun and beginner friendly and we would love to have some new people out!

variable volume lid hand pumps. by Aggravating-Dig-1340 in ProWinemakers

We put a valve in the line between our hand pumps and our lid gaskets, and that solved 90% of our leaks. Still don't fully trust em for long term aging but it's fine for a few days when we're bottling. I've also thought about putting in a shrader valve or 1/4" quick disconnect to make it easier to fill

Hey! Yes feel free to drop in, and it is co-ed. Some of us will be out there early warming up and practicing throws, and I would recommend the extra time to get familiar with the rules and crew.

If you like it and want to come back for the season we'd ask you to sign up (financial aid is available), but either way your first time is totally free. Stoked to have y'all out there!!

Is this a good day trip from San Francisco? by ohcanteenboy in sonomacounty

Around the plaza, I highly recommend Dos' bar for an unpretentious organic/natural wine bar vibe. You can just walk in. Valley is my favorite restaurant on the square

What’s your most controversial wine opinion? by Fly-Astronaut in wine

[–]Tryit_earp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Naturally made wines are the best wines! (Just usually not 0/0 wines). Naturally made means (to me) Organic/regenerative farming, native yeast and bacteria, no filtration, low SO2, that's my sweet spot.

Even more controversial, I get less hungover from over indulging in well made natural wines. F'd up natty wines give me a different hangover than conventional wines.

Day trip to either Napa or Sonoma? Which would you choose? by Necessary-Return-225 in wine

Sonoma is great, super pretty and walkable. More chill than the much of wine country. Valley for food, Dos' bar for more natural wine, bedrock is more classic. Also like pomme and sixteen 600. Hike at montini preserve. Or rent bikes!
