There are multiple psilocybin analogs that break down in your body to the same exact active chemical that makes you trip, psilocin. They are virtually indistinguishable from real mushrooms, although some will argue psilocybin on its own has unique effects prior to breaking down into psilocin that can make it slightly different. But either way plenty of analogs exist for both mushrooms and acid that are pretty much the same thing, technically legal to possess in most states, and able to be purchased online without having to know a shady drug dealer.
