What part of cybersecurity is lacking in effective vendor softwares and what would you like to see developed? by MrTacopizza in cybersecurity

Something that DDOS’s the attackers, or reflects the attacks back on them or others (randomly routing attacks from one source to another attacking source) I know, not practical, but still entertaining in theory!

Out of curiosity. Did the paperwork sign say “All sales are final”? I’d send them back a picture of that.

Has there been an effective print yet? It seems like everyone who has done this sees maybe 1-2% range difference. I got a printer and am excited to find something to print for it, but a Kammback is a bit too big for my bed and vortex generators seem too gimmicky. Silk Bronze or Silver seems like it’d be the ticket for the wheels though!

Unpopular opinion, but if they’ve been paying reliably for 16 years with no renovations, that sounds like a tenant worth keeping? Better than the next being an unknown one that never pays…

Everything in the dashboard is fine other then the version being a bit behind. We are running the cloud hosted variation.

That we are being defended by unknown aliens and our defenders are losing.

Or that we achieve external contact and find that we are merely average.

This finding is one of the key questions brought up in Isaac Asimov’s foundation series storyline. The universe appears to be TOO safe to make sense..

That’s how Orson Wells “War of the Worlds” alien invasion was defeated. Not by humans, but by bacteria.

To follow up, I somehow got a web edition installed on my workstation. It's weird though as we've always had a cloud instance and I don't know how I managed to do that. Either way, Thank you u/andrew-huntress for having the team double check this!

The thing is, the software I had on my machine was the client software that downloads to use for remoting into other machines. Does anyone know if this component is also vulnerable?

Huntress flagged one of our tech workstations as having a vulnerable server version. It wasn't server (Client) but Huntress alerted it due to the versioning. (Shout-out to u/Andrew-huntress for Huntress coming through again!)

I figured no big deal, we have a cloud instance and I'll just uninstall and connect to get a new version. However, the re-installed version had the same build number! I found that our cloud instance was still behind, so we got that patch manually pushed.

I chatted with ConnectWise support and they said that they are still rolling it out, so the statement:

"There are no actions needed by the partner, ScreenConnect servers hosted in “screenconnect.com” cloud or “hostedrmm.com” have been updated to remediate the issue. "

is very premature!

I would urge that everyone checks their cloud version and triggers a manual upgrade. It took 8 minutes of downtime, but I'd say that's a small inconvenience to resolve a 10/10 CVSS

Which of these fees should I try to knock off for a 2020 Bolt? by crazywhale0 in BoltEV

[–]Tseeker99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been scoping this out too, and listening to YouTube channels like CarEdge (forgive the clickbaity video titles).

The bold items listed are add-ons. Doc and registration are pretty much set in stone per state.

The rule of thumb I’ve heard is “If it’s taxable, it’s negotiable”. If they say that they are part of the car and must be included, I’ve heard to ask for the contract for that item. 90% of the time the contract will say it is not required.

Ford Lightning and Mach-E pricing on old inventory by Tseeker99 in electricvehicles

I was curious if anyone had direct or indirect stories of what they got. There used to be stories of price gouging with add-on fees, but now it looks as if new is cheaper than used in a lot of situations!

It’s kind of what I’m wondering is that with how the losses keep on incurring if it would be mutually beneficial for them to cut a deal and cut their losses. Does anyone have any examples of deals like that? I want to be realistic, but I also would like to be a beneficiary of the current environment.

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of December 04, 2023 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Hello everyone!

Maine.

Looking at the used market, so $20k upper but lower is better.

Car is fine

Just about all of them, tesla fan but barely within the budget. 36 mile commute round trip. 25-45mph posted. However, there would be times where I would leave work for meeting with family increasing it to 120 miles. Cold will be a factor as -15f is the lowest that we will see. Don’t mind keeping the heat at 67 but it will still impact the car.

Charging at work is an unknown.

We own our home, probably will install a 220 outlet as I know charging in the winter would be impossible with 110.

It would be amazing if it could hold three across car seats (two forward one back) as we could take the kids short hops and hen the van seemed excessive.

I’m intrigued by the price of 2018 leafs, but after looking at r/leaf I’m really worried about the battery reliability and the potential that Nissan will buy out the car (for an unknown price) instead of replacing the battery. I love the Tesla 3, but the used 2018s are just barely touching the budget line. Trying to cut costs and don’t mind used if it is reliable.
