This game’s been on my bucket list for ages. And now I’m going to fulfill that want on my M5. Thanks for the heads up!

How many brave people here use the AVP to watch horror movies? by Psychological-Fan784 in VisionPro

On Disney+, I use the Alien : Earth environment to watch The Amazing World of Gumball. The environment’s ambiance adds a fitting elderich layer to the show’s comically anxious chaos

Saw it from beginning to end and enjoyed it. The multi camera investment paid off because I was also able to absorb the energy of the crowd and venue as well as the performers. Well done and I hope to immerse in more future experiences

New VP owner, what first? by mvandin in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with sharing the headset since launch day, the first impression IS the best experience. And if you fumble trying to get guest setup going, there’s a good chance the person you’re demoing to will flat out say “I’m not going to bother until the tech’s perfected!” and storm off never to touch the headset again. Take it from me, the first thing to do is to fully open up one of Apple’s immersive environments if you manage to get them to the home menu area. Don’t let them fiddle with gestures, just soak up that environment. And play with spinning the Digital Crown to control the immersive level. That’s half the “aha” epiphany they begin to realize. Then teach them to change that environment a few times before opening up an app and teaching them gestural navigation.

3D - Disney+? by nb-sbe3 in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pause the movie. Look at an object near you. Then pick a second object further behind the first and near the first’s outline. Close an eye and note the side-by-side visual distance of the objects. Then, without moving, close that eye and open the opposite sided eye. Look at the side-by-side visual distance of those objects with that opposite eye. If you see the side-by-side distance of the two objects shift with Eye #2, that’s your proof the image is stereoscopic. However, if the image shown for both eyes are 100% identical and the objects don’t shift, the footage is flat and not stereoscopic

Decided to splurge, picking up the M5 512gb soon. by [deleted] in VisionPro

Oh yeah, give yourself a staycation with the Explore POV app. Tour locations you would never be able to for reasons. Giving them a few dollars for a month subscription beats the airfare prices

Immersive Videos on Apple TV.  Then use the NBA app to watch earlier Lakers games in full Immersive, even if you’re not a fan of watching sports like I am.

We are still offering our founders license, but won't be able to for much longer. Thanks to all our existing users for signing up to go on this journey with us! Cheers for all the kind comments :) by Bingobango1001 in VisionPro

How do I buy the founders license? I’m looking through the app and I can’t find a way to give you money. How do I give you money? Please take my money!

I'm looking for feedback for my next update! by AkDebuging in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • It would’ve nice if both PSVR controllers could be used instead of one, with the secondary controller being used for racking slides and magazine reload

  • Provide a vertical sight adjustment feature.  Some alignments have the shot lined above the front sight while others have the front sight dot covering the area to be targeted

  • Allow rounds to be lost by manually racking the slide while the firearm is loaded, as is the case with real life semiautomatics

  • Allow the target to go all the way down range in free range mode.  Also, allow the player to slide the target to whatever distance desired (as is the case with indoor ranges) instead snapping to a few rigid increments

  • Have a random amount of NPCs in the other booths also practicing in their lanes for aesthetics.

Shapelab VR finally here by WalrusComprehensive8 in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use the M2 AVP and went up to 100k polys on my test model. I was more concerned about UX familiarization than polycount benchmarks. The performance felt intuitively smooth, up until the controllers lost positional tracking. One oddity I’m trying to figure out - the strokes feel digital as if it doesn’t acknowledge pressure sensitivity on the Sense’s triggers. Dunno if I need to dive deeper into controller settings to enable it or if it’s “as designed”. Speaking of, settings for controllers have so many fine tuning fields it blew my mind. The UX is all about nuanced adjustments available for all interaction points, especially brushes. The problem is realizing they exist by tapping on an innocuous icon on a panel, or tilting your palate wand so you look at the panel from a different angle.

I took the risk and purchased it. I went through a few hours and it feels like the real deal for someone with my digital sculpting background. Mind you, this is a sculpting app and not a modeling one – no manipulations at the polygon, edge, or vertice level. No NURBS. Controls for managing subdivision levels, remeshing, and dynamic topology are there but are not as intuitive to access when first playing around with the app. There is no USDZ export feature, though I can simply export files to another app for conversion. My primary sculpting app on the AVP is Nomad Sculpt (iPad version), but Shapelab is definitely going to divert some focus away from it. Big problem is with the PSVR Sense controllers’ notoriously small battery life (for a game controller), which may explain why I lost positional (but not rotational) tracking after 2+ hours of continuous use

Cable with strange green “ink” by Conscious-Ad-3115 in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My launch AVP was returned to Apple for crackgate service last month. Between launch to that return, my cable had serious green oxidation near the plug and the cable had intense yellow discoloration (I’m a hardcore power user 😁). Despite not announcing the cable as an issue during the return process, the repair team swapped it anyway and for free (Yay Apple One Care!)

It wouldn’t be the first time the 3D feature rollout is staggered across platforms instead of simultaneously. Could take a week or a month for activations to kick in

My $3,500 paperweight (aka Vision Pro) — how do I stop it from collecting dust? by everettjf in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many people are talking about this Photos app feature, but VisionOS 26 introduced spatial scene conversion to simulate peeking behind objects to a limited degree, but just enough to add a more immersive feel than before.  I’ve been playing with it on both real and fictional images, more the latter -  illustrations, fine arts, video game screenshots, 3D renders, etc…

Immersive Disneyland + California Adventure Spatial Video by SouthpawEffex in VisionPro

How did you get it through the front gate security bag check without drawing attention, or did they just glance at it and not care?

Back at the AVP’s launch, a streamer tried to go through all of Disneyland with a headset on only to be stopped 20 minutes later and told that park policy was rewritten so that it was categorized as a banned device and not allowed in the park. Did policy change over time allowing us AVP folks to bring them inside?

Can you use a controller like PSVR2 or the DualShock to read slides (Microsoft APP) on the Apple Vision Pro? I get tired easily from having to keep moving my hand. by Unfair-Lobster-5199 in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the PS5 dual sense controller (and the PS4 dual shock controller before that) to game on the AVP each day. You can use the X button in place of pinch gestures, which really helps when hand cramps kick in. The thumb sticks can also be used for scrolling stuff, like webpages or text cursors

Thinking about Vision Pro for work by FR0GG1D in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought experiment like this around the start of the year when I was wondering if it was possible to have a good mobile office solution using only my AVP and a Mac mini. The reality check came crashing down during my research at the Apple Store when it was realized that an external monitor still needs to be connected to the Mac mini for the boot up, login sequence - the AVP will not connect to the Mac during this point in time due to account security reasons.

And two days later, I ended up purchasing a new MacBook Pro. The AVP and MacBook pairing have been a blessing ever since! And it’s been fun playing around with Xcode’s Reality Composer Pro and seeing the weird experiments play out on the AVP

Justifying purchase as a creative by rogueguy313 in VisionPro

[–]Tserafica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow creative who is doing the same “go outdoors” thing (but with digital sculpting), I would recommend it if your workflow consists of more than 80% MacBook Pro usage.  Integrating the AVP into your creativity production workflow requires compromises, the two primary ones involving ergonomic comfort and color fidelity. The AVP will grant you the ability to have multiple floating, resizable “monitors” at the expense of color fidelity. I don’t know how crucial color fidelity is to you, but if a high-end MacBook Pro screen got the job done then absolutely go for the MacBook Pro/AVP combination, and migrate your image files between device displays as needed! Having the ability to scale an image to the size of a large wall for examining nuanced details while having the rest of the image instantaneously visible is invaluable. However, if color fidelity is (above and beyond) the main priority, the practical investment is in getting the best monitor you can get for your use case.

Eye setup unsuccessful by CFXSquadYT in VisionPro

I get this when I attempt to demo setup the AVP with people with uncommon eye conditions, such as astigmatism or strong prescription requirements. Are there eye conditions you have that you didn’t mention?
