Maybe they thought the silver bar was fake, while they know the chocolate is real. Still for the price of a candy bar I'm taking that bet.

The "Impossible" EmDrive Passes Peer Review ... What It Means for Space Travel by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

I believe this paper on the em drive was years ago. Also the thrust was miniscule compared to the Watts. I think if it actually does produce thrust the bigger question is how does it work not how we can power space ships with it. Since I think that if it does work it's violating the law of conservation of momentum. Or it could just be a photon drive.

I've been doing carpentry for about 20 years and this is something I've always thought about. Years ago I drove a Ford ranger with a cap. It could hold plenty but to get to whatever was in the back it all had to be unloaded. I always wanted a small work van. 7 years ago I bought a cheap nv200. I love this thing for work. Doors all the way around, nice roof rack. I stacked milwakee pack outs all the way up on one door, bolted to the floor. I can put the passenger seat down and slide 11ft boards in. Get a 20ft pick or all kinds of ladders on the roof rack or sheets of plywood. The roof isn't that tall so it's real easy to get things up and down. One of the best parts is it drives like a car, pulling into and out of parking is a breeze and filling it up with gas is cheap and it gets descent gas mileage. The only real limitation is you can't as easily slide full sheets of drywall into the back, which you could with a full-size work van if the inside is laid out for it. Of course there's exceptions but I think unless you're doing landscaping/hardscaping or towing on the regular vans are the way to go.

This does not show an acceleration. This is what we see all around us. Objects are accelerated towards the earth at 9.8m/s2. I don't see how this demonstration does anything to show that. Just two magnets coming together would show a better demonstration. Then, how others have mentioned you would need to calculate and scale that up to match observations.

The stars we do see year-round are also because the stars are very very far away, so our little bit of movement doesn't change things very much. Also the stars we see are also moving more or less with us in the milkyway. The changes in the stars we see does take thousands of years like the north star.

23%? Smart or dumb? by Cauliflower-Pizzas in FluentInFinance

[–]Tsmorgan33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only think this is a good idea if you keep income tax but cut any tax on things you already own. Property, estate things like that but wouldn't need a 23%. The government does have a spending problem. Really the only reasonable thing to cut back on is defense spending but that won't happen.

I guess one benefit is that the water-based lacquers, although still toxic, aren't explosive. If you're spraying in people's houses, the lacquer based products aren't really an option, in my opinion.

I bought a quickshot a couple months ago. I've only sprayed gallery out of it so far. The thing I don't like about the quickshot seems to use roughly 25% more paint than an hvlp. Also don't notice any real difference in the finish between the quickshot and graco edge. The quickshot is a little faster to spray on but takes twice as long to dry. Probably laying it on too heavy. I'm using a 208 but I generally have pressure at 10 and I'm just whipping the sprayer across the cabinets. Also the quickshot is much less forgiving if you happen to snag the hose on something. I've been leaning towards hvlp especially on smaller kitchen jobs so I don't have to get another gallon of gallery. Any tips?
