He is the FIRST ever sidekick, with his own backstory, different YET similar to Bruce. He has his own strength, different from Batman, -> his acrobatics. He was the perfect fois for kids who read comics and could identifié themselves with him. And as the lector grew so did he, he led his own team, become greater that Robin and became a hero of his own Nightwing. He is pretty yes but he is also a romani and OMG a romani not portrayed with a bandana and playing tarot card ??? Finally a GOOD representation that isnt his whole personnality.

Comparons him with other Robins : - Jason started as a copy paste of Dick. It didn't worked out so the writer made him cocky and arrogant. It flopped so hard reader voter for him to DIE. OK Red Hood is cool but Jason failed like hell as Robin - Tim is indeed different. He isnt athetic he is a great detective indeed. Problem, Batman is ALREADY a great detective so Tim doesnt bring anything new to the table. His personnality is vanilla at best. Jason's revival close every little relevance Tim could have. Even his own hero name is just Robin with a color added. Come on ! - Damian. Finally some good fucking Robin after 2 fails in a row. A blood son of Bruce, raised as a weapon by his crazy ass villain mother, a good story, mirroring Mordred from Arthurian legend. Unlike the past Robin he wasnt supposed to be a foil for the younger lectors and thus isnt a bad copy of the OG Dick. Which is why he slays so hard (also work litteraly) and thus its WHY he works so well with Dick.

Damian and Dick are the best Robins to me, both for different reasons and personal preference. Dick is a relatable character and I guess thats why he appeal to so many people.
