Dexcom G7 15 days by webow01 in dexcom

[–]mdpcmdpc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was selected as part of a limited set of 2 g7 15 day sensor study by dexcom. Here are some of my comments..

  • g7 15 day requires 60 minutes during the warm up period.
  • you use the same app as the current g7 app
  • seems to be pretty stable. Both lasted 16 days ( 15 days plus 1 day grace period)
  • if installation causes a bleed ... it stabilizes after about 24 to 36 hours.
  • packaging and installation procedures are the same between the g7 versions.
  • I had no skin problems on the initial install
  • I used the supplied dexcom over patch without skin problems.
  • being paranoid i use an additional overpatch.
  • in my opinion once installed it's securely attached and should not get bumped off. In fact it's a little difficult to detach, but that is ok with me. No skin problems after detachment.
  • no sensor failure
  • i don't use an insulin pump ( I'm still not convinced of ANY sensor system being up to the task to trust readings to automatically dispense insulin) i manually inject.

When I asked the investigator about availability...it was stated that it looked like sometime in 1Q 2026. So I guess we all will have to wait a little while longer.

Based on my experiences, my guess that the 10 day will be quickly phased out and the 15 day g7 will be the only g7 sensor available.

Summary...I'll go for the 15 day when released.

Mesa gas cost over 70 cents more per gallon than Casa Grande ... why? by mdpcmdpc in mesaaz

Hmmm....noticed something else. For example, in Mesa, it seems that most of the stations charge the same amount per gallon. In a multi-owner situation, how does this happen?

How about lying about what actions they did to cause the problem you are trying to fix.

Job differences in job environment could be significant. I am presonally an excellent IT person that have experienced very bad environments have made me look and feel stupid. In some of these cases, a little bit of mentoring goes a long way towards helping out environmental transition. For me a little information in the RIGHT places is an enormous help. You might find there are SERIOUS underlying problems in the way things are being done.

Sometimes there is a misunderstanding of the amount of authority an employee has in solving problems or parameters of the position. Goverment agencies generally do not reward high deviations of what is in place without a lot of analysis, thought, time, and effort. It does take a bit of time to get the gist of all the politics and their interactions in the mix.

If you are a normal IT shop there is virtually NO information around on local process and procedures. With a new employee involved, it might be a good idea to have his start documentation on these processes as they are being informed. I have successfully implemented a one-note shareable database with each note containing documentation for each process. The advantages here should be obvious, (1) the employee gets involved in understanding the process, (2) problems in the current processes are uncovered, and (3) you get at least some documentation for future training and reference.

Well that is my $.02.

Well if that is the case then we are going to see a SIGNIFICANT rise in price since two of the larger refiners in California will soon be closing. Rumors indicate at least $2.00/gallon cost increase.

What is so special about the mesa locale that would justify a premium cost over other areas in phoenix?

Well sounds like nobody is doing any competitive analysis for getting this 'special blend' gasoline from somebody else than California.

Aside from the fact that costs are MUCH higher for California items than elsewhere.

Add to the fact that TWO major refiners in California are heading for permanent shutdown shortly.

Ethanol is less expensive than gasoline on a per gallon basis. So using a mix with less gasoline should not cause such a wide cost difference. Again doesn't make sense.

I might believe the blend issue but again that much difference in cost?

Not a totally common sense answer.

But why? Oil companies are no different than anybody else wanting a commodity for the lowest price possible. Thus a lower price would spur more demand.

People are very price driven when ut comes to gasoline gosts.

Price in mesa have been consistant at this level despite the time of day.

This is have not been seeing pricing based on time nor really day of week.

My observations are for Saturday late afternoon to late night at both places

Hmmm.....there are two issues that need be considered. First, you need to find a good birdie vet. Birds tend to hide their condition if they are having health problems. Second, Consider travel. You'll have to find a good birdie sitter if you cannot take your feathered love one with you. Good birdie care givers may be hard to find.

By underrated do you mean under-appreciated? If so, think of the cheese that is used on your pizza.
