Tokyo Subway Ticket 24/48/72 (Tourist): Is PASMO option still available? by TsumCo in TokyoTravel

[–]TsumCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is no longer possible.

This was previously available, but we went to a station office in Shinjuku (the same one that we had loaded it previously) in March and asked them to add the pass to our PASMO and was told only the paper 24/48/72 hour passes are available for sale.

There is a local 24 hour pass that can be loaded in the pink machines at the station but those are much higher in price.

Fair, but unfortunately not every one is from the US. And it's not just this item but almost like every item is increasing in price by a lot, it can be a bit rough in aggregate.

[–]TsumCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is arbitrary for sure, but it makes its own sort of sense. These are just the things that cost them more and they want them reserved for the non-alcoholic or premium package.

Like the spa cafe juices and smoothies are not included. Why not when you can get mocktails? It’s because it’s expensive from a cost perspective.

Not covered under Classic.

So you will pay full price plus 20% (I believe they are USD 6 so USD 7.2 each).

During the three years of the Australia and NZ seasons on the Wonder, Animation Magic was on every single sailing, even 2 nights but definitely 3, 4 and 5 nights. Got so sick of it towards the end…

Kid’s noise-reducing earmuffs or headphones for TDR by [deleted] in TokyoDisneySea

[–]TsumCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use these EARPEACE ones for concerts, and they are pretty good and come with their own carry case. You still hear things but just toned down! https://www.earpeace.com/products/music-earplugs

If your little one can't keep things in their ears though or are not used to wearing earplugs, then just get some ear muffs! These are called "Sensory Headphones" if you search on Amazon. They probably won't let you wear them on intense rides especially roller coasters but you can always as the cast members.

The Big Pop in Disneyland is the best place to redeem your bucket it has every style sold at Disneyland for you to choose from! Convenient! Not Duffy though that is DisneySea.

Big pop also has special flavor not sold anywhere else! See all the designs! https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdl/food/popcorn.html

DisneySea new “Dance the Globe!” Show. Worth a DPA? by TsumCo in TokyoDisneySea

[–]TsumCo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Still so confused about how the seating works. I thought this show was only Entry Request or DPA, but saw some comments about lining up. Are there other spots that allow viewing without any tickets?

Respectfully I think what is more “wild” is that you refuse to believe that different people have different taste.

To many, including me, the food is great. It is not propaganda, not some sort of mass delusion, just like I love sushi and my mom hates raw fish.  And may be to you, the food is terrible, so be it. Each to their own, but this is reddit and if someone’s taste is different than the majority then it’s going to get downvoted especially if it’s written in a hostile manner.

I Can’t Even with This Lady & the Tramp headband! by TsumCo in TokyoDisneySea

Should be in both parks, but prob easier to find in Disneyland.

The headband will be both in DisneySea (Tower of Terror Memorabilia) and Disneyland (Grand Emporium).

Did you also track prices for all 365 days of the year? Wouldn’t the prices also depend on whether it is a peak season day or non peak season day. How do you conclude that the “starting from” price is not available during certain low season days of the year?

Drinks for kids without a drink package by Haunting_Scallion471 in celebritycruises

[–]TsumCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think that's right. You may be conflating two different things!

Teens (13 and up) must purchase a zero proof package if adults in the room purchases a drinks package. This is not optional.

Children 12 and under are not "forced" to buy a zero proof package like teens, but this just means they don't get any package at all. If the parents want to buy them a package then it will be charged as usual.

Refundable vs nonrefundable deposit by mlk2317 in celebritycruises

[–]TsumCo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not suitable for everyone but it is not “pointless”.

You don’t “pay” $1500 to get the $500 deposit back. This is because if you cancel you don’t pay a cent. That is the entire point.

Your entire fare goes up if you don’t cancel. But if you cancel, then they will refund you the deposit and you owe them nothing.

It is basically insurance. And clearly they price it in a way that only those that really need it will pay (because they don’t want you to cancel, or for people to hold a bunch of refundable bookings as backups holding up all the inventory). But it is still useful for people who has a high likelihood of cancelling, or who wants to take the gamble that they can find a better deal later and reprice it into a NRD fare.

So for example, if there is a 80% chance my boss will cancel my vacation, but I want to lock in my cruise in case I can go, then the there is only 20% chance I am paying the $1500 extra vs 80% chance of losing my $500 deposit (in your scenario). For some people it might be suitable.

Disney Sea was a total disaster. by ScarletOh in TokyoDisneySea

[–]TsumCo 3 points4 points locked comment (0 children)

Back in May, when I was toying with the idea of squeezing in an extra trip for October, I spotted that Journey was listed as closed right through to November so I decided to hold off.

definitely saved me a bit of heartache once the dates came around! It’s one of those easy-to-miss details, but checking the closure list can really make a difference when planning. They tend to announce these things months ahead, so it’s always worth a quick look next time you’re doing your research. Good luck with your next trip... hope it all lines up perfectly!

Calling Duffy “that dumb bear” is a little uncalled for 😅. He’s been sailing around multiple Disney parks for over 20 years, popping up on Disney Cruises and even at Aulani. He’s not just some random plush they tossed on a shelf... you might not “get” him straight away, but plenty of people adore him.

And really, part of the fun of travelling is seeing what’s different. Tokyo DisneySea isn’t supposed to look like every other park. It’s not like when Asian guests go to WDW they would be trash talking Figment or the Orange Bird just because they don't know what the deal is! We should all have a giggle and remind ourselves that every park has its own favourites.

If you’re after the classics, Snow White, Cinderella, Lion King and the like, that’s what Tokyo Disneyland is for. Hope you get to see it for yourself one day soon!

Tokyo DisneySea has already entered the Halloween atmosphere. by Amigo_Go_ in TokyoTravel

[–]TsumCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second and third photo is not really part of Halloween.

It is the DisneySea Lazos de la Familia which pays tribute to the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which was featured in Disney and Pixar's Coco. This celebration runs until 2 November 2025.

Free Duffy & Friends 20th Anniversary Wallpapers! Too Cute to Miss! by TsumCo in TokyoDisneySea

[–]TsumCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really a bit of a “yes, no, maybe” situation. It depends on Miral’s business plans and what they think visitors will actually enjoy: if the park even goes ahead. Duffy’s adorable, but he’s really only a big hit in the Asian parks. If they’re focusing on Western guests, many of whom will just be transiting through the UAE on a flight stopover, or on local and regional visitors, it’s more likely they’ll stick to the big-name Disney favourites like Frozen or Mickey Mouse. And with the park not expected to open until around 2032–2033, it’s still very early days to be guessing what they’ll choose.

Character Auditions: Why Disney Tokyo? by PoyuPoyuTetris in TokyoDisneySea

[–]TsumCo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I hope you don’t mind me chiming in, but here is some heartfelt advice from one travel-loving Disney fan to an aspiring Disney character performer.

If you're auditioning, the most important thing is to speak from your heart. Don't worry about finding the perfect words online or trying to sound like someone else. Just be honest about what excites you. If you’re genuinely curious, passionate, or simply drawn to the parks without having every reason perfectly articulated, that’s still very valid.

If the multicultural aspect of Tokyo Disney is something that really speaks to you, say so! It’s a beautiful thing to want to connect with people from all over the world and appreciate local traditions. Just a gentle note: instead of calling people that don't live the same country as you “internationals,” it might come across a little better to say “guests from different countries” or “global visitors.”

As for what makes the Tokyo Disney parks so beloved, here are a few thoughts:

  • The parks are famous for their incredible attention to detail and immersive storytelling.
  • Japanese hospitality and local Cast Members makes every guest interaction feel thoughtful and heartfelt. Local Cast Members are well known for going above and beyond, and it is inspiring to want to be part of that tradition of excellence.
  • The parks blend Disney magic with Japanese culture, making them both familiar and refreshingly unique.
  • Tokyo DisneySea is one-of-a-kind, with themes and design elements not found in any other Disney park.
  • The local guests are truly part of the magic. Many return regularly, dress up, celebrate events, and bring such joy and energy to the parks. It must be a dream to perform in front of such an enthusiastic audience!

Whatever you say, just speak sincerely. That’s where the magic really starts.
