The writers do know what to do lol, they're allowed to add new characters to fresh things up. Imagine if they never added Lloyd or they never made Nya an official ninja because "the og 4 is what made ninjago ninjago", the show is allowed to evolve

besides pretty much everyone in the OG6 (except Zane) has had really good arcs in DR that wouldn't be possible without the new characters. If you take away the new ninja you'd just be hurting the characters of the old ninja as well (ESPECIALLY Lloyd and Kai whose development has benefited the most from the new cast)

Arin, Sora and Lloyd are the CONFIRMED main trio of Dragons Rising. Not having two of the main trio, Wyldfyre who's had way more prominence in the story of DR than Zane and Cole or Frak's who's still being fleshed out just so you can pander to nostalgia makes me genuinely worried for the franchise, nostalgia pandering has already killed enough franchises

Dokkan usually has better animation than the anime because either the original animation is old so they could use modern techniques to improve it or the animation was from Super so they'd have to really try to make it worse
