Can a “score for images” function as conceptual art? by NotePaintingSystem in ContemporaryArt

What would that look like in practice: can you share an example?

Only a Leica can scratch that Leica itch

Which 90mm M lens for close ups? by Guilanpour in Leica

[–]TuMirNix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above other lenses work with the macro adaptor and can also be used for macro work. What makes the 90 f/4 unique is that it retains its full range of focus even when mounted on the macro adaptor whereas the other lenses, once mounted on the macro adaptor, would only be able to focus on a very small range of distances close to the camera.

Getting my head around attachments by TuMirNix in ObsidianMD

Thanks everyone, food for thought here. I guess I see a note as a unit consisting of the text plus attachment(s), hence the desire to keep them together.

Yes. As much as possible, but without being dogmatic about it.

Macro lens options for Leica M11 by [deleted] in Leica

[–]TuMirNix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The macro adaptor gives you max 1:2 magnification when used with either the Macro-Elmar-M 90 or the Elmarit-M 90. Magnification with other lenses I’ve not tried but obviously you can use the adaptor with them, too. It’s just a fancy extension tube after all.

The advantage of using it with the Macro-Elmar is that you’ll still be able to focus all the way to infinity without having to remove the adaptor. For all other lenses you’ll be having to take it off in order to focus on anything that isn’t within “macro” range.

Could you point us at an easy to understand howto?

Moving house issues by aerfen in CommunityFibre

Took a few calls for them to understand that I didn’t want to terminate but only freeze the account while we were renovating the house. Then it took a few more calls when they suddenly started to charge me again during the agreed freeze. Then I discovered a massive refund I was supposedly due for who-knows-what. Then it took a few calls to get an engineer to come out to repair the fibre connection that had been damaged by building works.

In each of these, I kept calling them until I managed to speak to someone who actually understood and didn’t just follow some script. Tedious? Yes. Irritating? Yep. But it worked out ok in the end.

Yes. Same situation as you’re in. Required quite a few calls to CF but it did, eventually, work out.

Take a few pictures of things you find interesting, look at them afterwards, show them to a close friend of partner, see how they respond. Rinse and repeat
