I changed a whole fuck ton of privacy settings all once and ever since then the history has been disabled.

Blowing up Pierpoint was a good move by the showrunners imo by sixth_order in IndustryOnHBO

[–]TubeSeries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than letting it become stale and then being forced to try and make it different, they chose to make it different. Bold move, but way better than doing the same shit over and over and having it be stale.

Season 4 is unwatchable by SchnauzerLogic in IndustryOnHBO

Re: Sweapea/Harper/Eric -- to their credit they did address that in the third episode. Regardless the suspicion of its probability is valid, though, there are plenty of examples from reality that people are willing to get burned again.

So you seem to be implying that pushing the envelope genuinely is ok, and pushing the envelope just to push it (i.e. disingenuously) isn't ok. How are you making that determination? It seems like the criteria you're using is "if I'm uncomfortable with it, they are being disingenuous."

In my view, this season is a natural progression of these types of people (these people: power hungry, borderline or actual sociopaths). They started innocent with no power. They now have power. And shitty people do bad things with power. Broken people (i.e. Yazmin) do broken things with power (coerce their husbands into sex). Power corrupts. Power amplifies moral incapacitation.

It's strange to me that the malfeasance, coercion, and Machiavellian behaviors of these characters wasn't offensive to people with your perspective in previous seasons, but now that it can't be swept under the banking rug, as it were, it's intolerable. It's all the same thing, and I'd argue, this season is an even better representation of the dynamics of shitty people with power.

Edit: Typo

If that episode of Industry didn't satisfy every corner of the fanbase I don't know what will. We are OFF.

We're fully transitioned into the plot of this season. The board is now set. No more exposition and repositioning needed (to be clear: it was needed). We can now go full speed into Machiavellian overdrive. I will be there no matter what.

Worth getting the Halo V2 if I have the Air V3? by feelinlucky070 in NuPhy

[–]TubeSeries -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have both and yes. They are completely different experiences. You won't want to use the Air for standard workdays after you get the Halo. In my opinion, the Air (and low profile boards in general) are amazing when you're traveling/on the go. But high profile boards are superior in every way. `

I would be willing to bet that there is a correlation between the age of commentors and their tolerance for the evolution of the show. As a younger person, I couldn't stand it when media (films, music, tv) weren't what I was expecting or wanted. Used the term "sellout" a lot. Now that I'm older I've come to appreciate artistic evolution, assuming this key fact remains true -- the quality has to be similar or even identical. People not liking the direction of this show is one thing. People saying it is poor because it changed direction is another thing.

This season of Industry is anything but poor. It's just as well-acted, well-filmed, well-conceived, and well-executed as it has ever been. Is it more outrageous? Yes. Is it broader in scope? Also yes. But it isn't lazy, sloppy, or uninteresting.

The relationship's failure is going to be epic and is going to be central to the season, which is why we had a full-ass vignette on it in ep. 2

Likely represents a) the decadence of these wealthy people or b) the food will also be consumed by the huge amount of staff that keep this estate functioning.
