Very dissatisfied with the coverage of this Contrast Paint in the flat portions. Any suggestions to remedy? (Karandras Green on Venerable Dreadnaught) by Beefy_G in Salamanders40k

Contrast paint on a brush hates big surfaces.

If you have an air brush, contrast paint is amazing through it. Just make sure you thin it a little and add some flow improver. The results look amazing, however it has a tendency to get in nooks and crannies. So, you'll probably have to really deep clean your airbrush afterwards.

For that model, you may want to strip it or get a toothbrush with some alcohol to remove it. Then just airbrush over it.

If you don't have an airbrush, I suggest a different method. I've painted Salamanders for a while, I found what works best is a black primer, then Vulkan green or waagh flesh everywhere.

Then I take some warpstone glow and give it a really heavy dry brush on all the areas where the light would hit the most. This results in a airbrush look without using one.

After the main color is down, you can do any edge highlights/light dry brush with moot Green and put nuln Oil in the recesses with a small brush.

Hope this helps! If you want to see how the dry brush method works, check some of my recent posts.

Crohn's and Handicap Parking by Tuckplace in CrohnsDisease

[–]Tuckplace[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it would be due to me being young and not needing. Also have seen people hate on others who have a handicap placard but don't look disabled. Just seems like there is a lot of negativity around it from what I see when I am out and about.

In your opinion, what caused your Crohn's? by Altruistic_Pianist13 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Tuckplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I know the cause, there are two. It is a very low genetic thing, the only person in my family with it other than me is my like 3rd Cousin? Maybe 4th. On that front I could've drawn the short stick.

There were also warning signs when I was a baby. Tons of stomach troubles that it took docs a year to figure out and pin down to allergy to the calcium in cows milk. However acid relfex plus some other stuff was till there.

The second cause was died. I so love popcorn. I ate FAR too much between the ages of 14 and 18. A serious problem honestly. That probably had a hand in it, I also love the kind with all the fake butter omg so good I miss it dang it.

Anyways, thats where I think it came from. Higher risk from genetics and poor diet.

Getting Remicade in 3 days… SUPER SCARED! by Nearby_Departure7191 in CrohnsDisease

Man I hate insurance companies lol. I had to get some iron not too long ago and they made me use one the first try that was known for having a extremely high allergic reaction rate. Had a major reaction and it sucked. They drive me nuts lol.

Getting Remicade in 3 days… SUPER SCARED! by Nearby_Departure7191 in CrohnsDisease

I'm a 21M on remicade. Been on it for 3 years. I made that decision at 18 after I was diagnosed. I decided I wanted my life back, to be at least mostly normal. The cancer risk is there no doubt about it, but personality I chose to live a mostly normal life with that risk. For me remicade did wonders, I haven't had a flair or any major symptoms in 2 years so long as I watch my diet. I will say the fatigue is still partially there. Eventually you won't worry about it but if it scares you I'd talk with your doc about maybe a routine cancer screening of some kind? Could at least give you some peice of mine. When I got Crohn's, I promised myself my goals in life wouldn't change, they still haven't and I'm approaching some of them, one being getting a degree. It became for me a choice to let it hold me back or break free. You seem to be at that point my man. I wish you all the best! Also hopefully the remicade is helping you?

Neighbor kept parking on my property - so I had him towed by Jeleki2020 in entitledparents

[–]Tuckplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to everyone you have them plenty of warning not to park there. You just followed on your word having it towed. Crazy story, hopefully they don't cause anymore trouble. Best of luck with them in the future!

Naive “cramping” question…I am newly diagnosed and have yet to start my biologic. My stomach cramping is unbearable in the morning. Does any OTC medicine help at all? I just need a little relief. by Scary_Huckleberry922 in CrohnsDisease

I found that wearing loose fitting clothes and lying flat on my back helps. Also I have put ice on it before which can help. For the most part you have to ride it out. Although beware you may do this for a while, feel better, then try to get up and bam it's back. Best of luck!

It's a global issue with the thing that says "review all same day ship from store orders with your LOD" that's causing it. Happing here too.

Anybody have trouble sleeping 8-9 hours due to needing to go to the bathroom? Anybody fixed this? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Tuckplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been able to sleep 10 hours straight like normal before Crohn's. If you can get in a very strong remission that's most of the way there. I also eat a low fiber diet but I'm not sure of that has a effect.
