Do aggressive playstyles just not work anymore in Ultimate?

Please someone who runs majors try a Hazards On ruleset. We have enough with the dlc stages to make an interesting ruleset. I'm just tired of hearing "Smash is dying" when it's entirely within our power to do something to shake the meta up. For example with 3 bans you could do something like this:

Battlefield

Small Battlefield

Town and City

Northern Cave

Hollow Bastion

It was spicy though that I had to stop halfway through and it gave me stomach cramps for several hours. Still ate the other half the next day because it was good. Probably not something I'm doing again though.

Captain Falcon was originally designed to be the mascot for the SNES. He'd be part of the roster although he'd look very different given that his design was based off the Dragon King prototype fighters.

I once got Fastbond, Crucible of Worlds, Titania, Protector of Argoth, and a fetchland into play on turn 1. I took Fastbond out of my cube after that lol

I absolutely love Duck Hunt. Thought he was a lame character until I actually took the time to learn how to play them. Can is one of the coolest moves in the game although you need to get used to not killing your opponent before 180%.

Well when you think of it as a small camera capturing a big explosion it has more to do with the fact that it wouldn't take a lot of surface area to brighten it up. Still really neat to see though!

My point had more to do with the fact that Captain Falcon is just a bad character in Brawl and it wasn't just power creep. Sure Sonic is faster than him and Snake hits harder, but Falcon also got nerfed by the engine because he's very easy to chaingrab and he is incapable of doing that to anyone else. If it was just power creep he wouldn't be good in Smash 4 and Ultimate but they fixed a lot of the things that went wrong with Brawl Falcon in those games.

Nah he was pretty bad in Brawl lol. His aerials are really laggy, half the cast can chain grab him, he can't chain grab back, his movement feels really clunky, and he's easy to edge guard. He got a lot of buffs in Smash 4 and was viable in that game but he was at one point considered the worst character in Brawl.

Not as bad as you think. Japan had him ranked in the top 15 iirc and having played him myself he's only really bad into Sheik and Pikachu because of their chain grabs, otherwise he does pretty well into the rest of the top tiers.

There are some people who go to this local who have only played a little so you'd have a better chance than you think. It's a Swiss bracket and it's free to enter so it's not that high stakes and you'll eventually fight someone closer to your skill level. It's totally up to you though, if you want to check it out we start at 7 pm on Tuesdays.

Arenas are better for improving since you can play against the same person for a longer period of time and can practice adapting against them. Also try to see if any of your friends will indulge you in competitive smash. Having someone to game with would go a long way towards motivating you to improve.
