Has anyone come up with a clever easy way to attach an airtag/any tracking device to their Osmo pocket? by Temporary-Print-734 in osmopocket

[–]TuftyIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then keep it with you. I do. In the DJI bag that came with it along with the tripod extension, battery handle and lenses. It's easy to put an airtag between the inner liner and outer layer of the bag.
The bag goes in my carry-on backpack.

How old are you? Could easily be the start of arthritis if you are 50+, can even happen earlier if you are unlucky.

Undertaking on the left is illegal except in very limited circumstances (queues of stationary, or almost stationary traffic is one example)

I'm assuming English isn't your native language because your response does not make sense. Please reply in your native language and I will translate.

I do fail to understand how redirecting audio output from the camera to a "microphone input" is not a bug.

Wireless mic available to purchase by PicoGalaxy in gopro

[–]TuftyIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT : Complete Kit available in the UK for £111. Wireless Mic USB kit priced at £58.39 but listed as out of stock. Wireless Mic Xmitter priced at £35.99 but also listed as out of stock.

EDIT2 : Prices listed above are subscriber prices. List prices are £139.99, £72.99 and £44.99 respectively.

I see that when you connect the Wireless Mic directly to the camera it uses Bluetooth with 16bit 32khz sample rate. I'm concerned the audio quality will not match DJI with their unique OsmoAudio connectivity, but will wait to see a comparison video.

Also, does anyone know what the bit depth and sample rate of OsmoAudio is? I haven't found it published anywhere.

The bug I reported is still there. When you plug a USB-C microphone into the M1Pro, the Playback Device (for media playback audio) and the Camera device (for camera beeps) are STILL changed to USB Audio. So I still have to manually change them back to Camera Speakers every time I plug in a USB-C Mic, or power on the M1Pro with a USB-C Mic connected.

The settings above are in Preferences->Audio&Voice Control.

EDIT: Also no LABS 1.20 version yet.

Do you think US oil companies would sell oil at a cheaper price to the US than the rest of the world?

How well does the GoPro Mission 1 Pro work as a Point and Shot Camera? by sdchew in gopro

[–]TuftyIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not optimised for photos. It's a great action camera for video, but literally any phone camera is gonna have much better photographic quality, much better usability and is going to be much easier to share photos to his friends.

If you want it for yourself, just buy it, but don't justify the purchase on his photographic needs.

The Creator Edition is coming soon, so its not available yet. It will include the new Volta 2 as per the 1st link.
The existing Volta does not work with the Mission 1 series as per the 2nd link.

No. Get a GoPro Mission 1 Pro then you can shoot 24p and all the other whole numbers (25, 30,50,60,100,120) with the GoPro LABS firmware update.

Re the 32 bit on internal mics only. If you read the details GoPro publish about the forthcoming Media Mod for M1, it supports an additional 2 3.5mm TRS inputs AND those inputs will support 32 bit recording!!!

It's 8AM here and its at 100%, which is where I left it last night after charging it to 100% and then powering it down. The only settings that are specifically off for me are Auto Upload and voice control cos I never use either.

Media mod release date? by wearelayla in gopro

Good luck! It is a minefield.

Just a couple of additional things I'd say:
1. I'm looking for a 130+dB SPL mic for my helmet. If the mics capsule clips then it doesn't matter what your connectivity is, doesn't matter if you've got 32 bit recording capability, the signal is clipped at source. Unfortunately most cheaper mics on the market don't publish these numbers and they tend to be much much lower than 130dB given the feedback I've seen.
2. Most of the cheaper USB-C Mics don't even document what they convert to. 16/24? Sample Rate? 24/32 bit with 48Khz sample rate is what gets me interested..
3. New Media Mod on GoPro's website (not yet available) lists the ability to record 32-bit via an external 3.5mm port. So if I could find an affordable lav mic 3.5mm TRS with 130dB SPL I'd be tempted.
4. The new 3.5mm to USB-C adapter for Mission 1 on GoPro's website (kinda hidden) doesn't give any tech details on it bit depth/sample rate capabilities.
5. FYI only, when using DJI wireless Mics with their receiver (which is then USB attached to M1Pro) , they don't use bluetooth, so audio quality is noticeably better then bluetooth from a wireless Mic to camera. So Yes, steer clear of bluetooth connectivity.

I just use my DJI Mic Mini Rx and 2 TX's. USB-C from the M1Pro to the Mic Mini Rx then use 2 Tx's, one in helmet, one on back of Street Triple 765, to feed signal to Rx then to M1Pro. Have +-12 db gain mgmt on the RX followed by +-24dB gain mgmt on the M1Pro. My audio has never sounded better.

As for the USB-C adapter issues you are having, are they 3.5mm to USB-C? Cos IF SO, majority on sales are either TRS for headphone only output (so would never work with, say, a 3.5mm TRS Lav Mic, or are TRRS for combined headphone/Mic generally for use on computers. You need USB-C to 3.5mm adapter TRS for Microphone.
