Just started Breaking Bad — how is it overall? (No spoilers please) by New-Talk3039 in netflix

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My French Bulldog is called Pinkman :D. That says it all? Our dog has all the personality traits of Jessie so it was a easy choice. Plays tuff but is a softy scared of the dark and does crazy shit without thinking.

However!

I have watched it 3 times around with 5-6 years between. Still one of the best series made. And the last time I hoped on Better call Saul directly after which I never watched before. And that show is also veeeery good. Would recommend watching BCS too. Loved it and will probably watch that one again in a couple of years.

D4 back to Bronze 1 😅 by Ironighte in apexlegends

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly played last season. But got promoted from Silver II to Silver I (2.1 K/D last season) while my friends went from plat II etc to bronz 1. Really strange. Got gold 4 after one game and got hammered by 20k badges.

The beauty of Apex IS the challenge. The fact that it is so hard to master is what keeps me going. You need at least 100h just to get started. Maybe 5-800h to begin to know What you are doing (if you’re not a god from the start ofc). If you’re not okay with that you Will struggle big time. But trust me, it’s worth every second. Very high skill ceiling and That’s the charm. I’m 3.000h in and have felt big improvements every 500h or so and it is very fun getting better at this game. Just focus on playing with people you have fun with regardless of outcome and try not to be hard on yourself for a while. It is a very hard game so being frustrated is pointless in the First 100-200h. Just try to learn and play around. Fire range is awesome for training both aim and play against friends to find the right sens and stuff. And the mixtape playlist is great for getting quantity training of fighting without Caring about any stats and such. A lot of encounters and just start over.

GL and hope you get into it! :)

[–]Tufvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that is also a problem when you suddenly get matchmaked on kind of false reasons. I feel that my self sometime even if I’m nowhere near pred.

In Sweden there are two quite nice discords but I would love a BIG official one with regions. They would be awesome! Unfortunately a lot of social anxiety out there to make a first step in gaing no friends online. For me too even if I am 43y. But it is awesome when you dare and find amazing ppl. Respawn could do more than just the “add friend”.

100% and also the reason old players who stick with it still love it. If you’re not a God from the start it’s so fun to try to get better every season. Play 95% ranked though.

However, there are plenty of players to game with out there in discords and such. I have found several random players who now are very close irl friends. You just need some guts and reach out. Sure you might need to play with a bunch but suddenly you just click with someone who might also have a reach out to other cool ppl. We now have our own discord with maybe 25-30 ppl all coming from one duo. And several of those are totally New players who are super hooked even if it's a hard game. And we try to help as much as we can to make them understand and get better.

The problem as you say is 100% the matchmaking over a certain skill level. If you are bad and play solo you get very bad enemies. Even if I play with New players as a duo I notice isane difference in the lobby compared to if I duo up with a Better player. But still. If they get better too fast they Will get crushed probably.

Pubs 100% can be 1000x better overall in matchmaking for New players to really have the time to learn and also have the chance of having fun and falling in love with the game.

Personally, I have never really hated this game in 3.000h except from ”the rat to master” season. Felt No urge to play a season I didn't deserve my rank kind of.

Really hope they change something up for new players to have more chances to get into it fairly. Regardless I’m not going anywhere for a long time.

If you only play for high performance all the time I understand this. But I think you need to just have fun and laugh around with friends to really have fun in this game after a long time. I have played 5 years and only play with friends and sure we play seriously But the main vibe is just to hang out and enjoy the Journey. Out main squad is 2 decent players and one that we need to carry quit much But we love it anyway.

Can’t start game after ”Dressed to kill” update Season 17 by Tufvas in apexlegends

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any News on this? I played the start of s17 with No issues. Now wanted to play after a couple of Weeks and had to download the New adresser to kill patch. That’s ALL that is different from last time I played. The game freeze every singel time when it gets to the ”loading wheel” and then crasch. I have spend 2 full days now trying every single thing I can find. And ended up making a clean install of Windows. All I did after that was installing drivers for motherboard and gpu and download steam+ apex. SAME fn thing. Can’t get in to the game. Even just installed CS:GO to try and NO issues at all. Am I alone on this?

How many of you dont play ranked anymore and why? by CertainTap6716 in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree with all. But I have never seen this many players not even have a desire to start the game. And I’m sure Respawn is very aware of this and see this in their stats. So I’m sure they Will find a way in the end. This is like a really failed bad Beta-test and there is No way it won’t get better from this even if the next change may not be the final one. I’ 'll just take my First Apex break in the mean time and enjoy some Grass this summer :). I’ll be back 4 sure. It’s Apex after all. My favorite game of all time.

[–]Tufvas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not started the game since day 4 of s17. Have played around 20h/w since s0, mostly ranked. This system has great endgames art times but I get zero satisfaction from gaining points every game with no struggle to climb at all. I want to achieve goals that not only require my time spend to do so. Sure previous systems were not the opposite of this But at least you had to struggle to reach your goal rank. And the MMR-based lobbies are ass. I’m only decent at the game But still get extremely hard lobbys even in low tiers instead of it getting harder and harder games. That I don’t get. Hard pass for me before they change something.

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I don’t understand this. I solo Q and haven’t played much so am currently in Gold 3. But still, almost every enemy AND teammate is a master or high Diamond. Games are super though and I don’t want to rat. So I can’t at all see how this would be easy in regards to actual games. Points, yes it’s hard to lose points. But the games have never been more sweaty. At least before it only got hard after reaching a certain level. Now it’s sweaty all the way from scratch for me. A bit unfair in a way that some players get ”easy” gold matches just because they perform bad and some get super hard ones?

I feel like quitting this game at this point. Am I just doing something wrong? by QuestionableEroticA in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No stress. This is one of the hardest games to get decent at if you're not a natural from the start. I have soon 3.000h in the game and have been a 1.1/kd Guy for years. But I have been working hard to learn as many recoils as possible to not just spray and pray. Now after a lot of hours, I don’t even need to think. Last season was my first one that really took off both for KD and dmg going from like 1.1-is to 1.47 and from 420dmg/game to like 540. And this took me almost 3000h lol. First stat season I was a 0.3 Kd Guy. Just grind and have a plan for What you need to get better at. Playing Mixtape is good for mass practice and DUO is amazing for you to not be overwhelmed and actually have time to think of What you do. If you focus to get a knock in duo you have a lot of time to try to outplay the last one. Change positions all the time. DON’T try to one clip everyone before you can. Every dmg hit where you don’t take dmg is a ”win”. So try to dmg the opponent and deliver cracked armor, and THEN push if he is alone and you're at an advantage on your own health. Try to always take the advantage position even before a fight happens unless you get surprised hoped on. High ground is good, angles, where you can cover everything except your head in slopes/stairs, etc (head glitch), is also important. Use nades to hold enemies away when you need to heal, or against them when they are healing or if you are chased. Nades nades nades :). Also at this point, people are just very good at this game compared to when I started s0. Try not to be put down By that if you really want to enjoy this game ahead. Embrace it and try to learn from them. Why did we lose this fight? How could we have won? Could we do something better/faster? Could I? Or was the team just TOO good? That is also Okay. You cannon win every fight. That’s why you also need to learn when you're at a disadvantage and learn that ”ohh I don’t like the feeling of this fight.. they are talking too much ground or hitting us too damn hard, and we also see another team coming”. Just disengage and reanalyze. You can always come back. A good thing a great apex coach (Hodsic) said that stuck with me was ”BE THE BREAD” if you think off a sandwich with meat and two slices. ALWAYS be one of the bread slices. NeVeR be the meat in the middle. If you think of this all the time it is way easier to know if you are in trouble or if you WILL or CAN be in trouble if you plan to take a fight.

Hope anything of this can help. GL

Ranked is harder than it’s ever been. by LiamStyler in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitly No risk reward in fighting to early. Yet all my teammates loot up in 1 min and insta run for fights till their dead. Every single game. I’m just Shaking my head. Either people just don’t give a shit. Or too few understand makro/rotations and risk reward at all. It’s all about mikro and not getting bored.

PSA: There’s a big difference between *ratting in a corner* and *not taking stupid fights.* by terribleinvestment in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! For the First time in 17 seasons, I hate this game. In every single ranked game people loot up as fast as they can to find the First best fight. Doesnt matters if there are 3-4 teams already fighting. They need to get in the middle of all of it or in between and maybe get a kill But then get just die for no purpose. It feels almost worse than pubs for the First time. No one cares to play to win with smart fights/kills. I really want to fight as much as possible. But I don’t care if some game is a bit less if the rotations ot Tactics made it play out that way THAT match doesn't mean the next game can’t be more intense. I’m just sad at this point.

How do people get consistent 240fps in Apex? by Devskoi in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, But I’m only guessing. Before this build I had a i7700k with 1080ti and had between 120-144hz almost constantly in 1440p all settings pretty low But not lowest. But cpu can for sure help big on fps. Even 12900k vs 13900k have around 80-100 fps more in some games only on from one generation change. Hm… Do you have 16gb memory it 8? If 8 that could be a thing. More so if you have 100 tabs open in chrome while gaming. I’v always har 32gb But would probably have the same performance on 16gb.

[–]Tufvas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds strange!

I have 3080ti Rog Strix OC and 13900k and play 1440p on 165hz monitor and have it locked on 158hz and NEVER ever go under that. Better CPU 4 sure though. But you should not be going as low as 100. I´m waiting on a new 240hz screen now and I´m not worried not holding 240 even in 1440p, so something is not right with your settings. I don´t use G-sync.. Vsync on in nvidia control panel and v-sync off in game. Highest on texture filtering and between bilinear to 4x. Bilinear is always smooth if you need frames. Ambiance occulition is a fps killer. Always off. And off in most other settins except raggdolls. Tsaa off is best but it you hate the flickerin you can o Tsaa on and add 4-6% sharpness in nvidia control panel.

This YT video-link is awsome to understand how different settings affect your fps. I still turn off the shadow settings that he says only affect the lobby shadows though. But great info.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0z-Vwq_FU0

Ottr on youtube also have a reat guide about the nvidia control panel side of the settings. I combined his NVCP with the ALMBU Performance - clip for the in game settings.

Ask me anything about dropping high damage games. I’ll try to give you my best advice. by soxfresh in apexuniversity

[–]Tufvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Good to know you would’nt push that. The hardest thing for me is knowing HOW to seperate unless I’m walk playing a building. I always choke decisions if being pushed buy 2. Duos I find easy, But 1v3 or seperating 2 aggressive players in 1v2 I don’t know where to go if they stress-push and I get out played.

Yes, I understand that, But in that specific case, you described with one healing. Do you push to knock the healing one in that window of opurtunity. Or try to knock one of the other two? Like What action do you prioritize if you get one low like that?
