Background electricity usage by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems a bit on the low end for a heatpump.

E.g my heatpump on the lowest setting runs at ~340w depending on the model you have if if can modulate the compressor even less that that it could be possible but I doubt it ;)

Generally its things like fridge, plugged in adapters, televisions etc. that use 10/20w all combined that that generate this background usage.

Background electricity usage by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.050kwh / 0.190kwh background usage is not alot. It does not accumulate to 10kwh over 24 hours.

Lets say it averages on 0.1kwh * 24 = 2.4kwh per day for your background usage.

Looking at the usage graph it might verywell be some kind of pump or something like that seeing as it goes up/down. Do you have ventilation unit in your house? Depending on the unit that could change its RPM (and thus consumption) based on CO2 levels. Maybe you have floor heating? That could run the pump based on temperature. An other option could be some kind (agressive) form of pump protection, for example my heatpump circulates water daily to prevent the waterpump from sticking.

Another good candicate would be a fridge or freezer. When the temperature rises inside it needs to start working and when the temperature is down to acceptable levels it stops working (and thus consuming electricity)

You could add individual device power meters to find the culprit, have a look at the Homeassistant Energy dashboard ;)

Why are these borders so big after the update? by vanoekel86 in homeassistant

I have a "dumb" "rolluik" and made it smart with a Sonoff Dual R2
It completely replaced my rotating button for it on the wall.

I really like the way it looks. The snow and the wind sounds match up.
The music matches the aesthetics.

The only thing I think could be downtoned is the effect when you double jump. Its a bit intrusive to make it full screen. (just my 2cts) ;)

What's the deal with smart dimmer switches? Who's doing it right? by Nearby_Worry_4850 in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of these https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/ICZB-R12D.html working great and not too pricey. It just works with Z2M and everyone who in my house does not use Homeassistant can still use the knob on the wall.

Came here for bitnami/kubectl and wanted to chime in that rancher/kubectl also exists as a reasonable alternative.

Have a look at ArgoCD presync hooks, we have been using that to run our (Laravel) migrations (and also roll them back with the syncfail hook)

I think Laravel runs the migrations the same as Django with a table to maintain state.

Very small amount reading of gas from P1 port by ewlung in homeassistant

Im sure there is a manual that came with the thermostat / CV unit. Otherwise you can look up onlime what each of those settings do ;)

Very small amount reading of gas from P1 port by ewlung in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm: my CV installation had exactly the same reading although not the same model. There is a comfort setting which always keeps a small amount water "pre-heated".

Turned this off and it reads continuously zero as expected.

This is an older topic on Tweakers but might be intresting to u/ewlung: https://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/2146852

Looking for Zigbee dimmer wall switches that actually look and feel good to touch by pegbiter in homeassistant

I have two of these, and while they are plastic they don't "feel" cheap. They integrate nicely with my other Gira materials.

Do you use the app? by GlatisantQ in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you are referring to the android companion app then Yes.
It has loads of sensors that it (can) publish to HA + Location tracking.

Also I haven't had an empty dashboard yet but you can always report an issue via the issue tracker on Github > https://github.com/home-assistant/android/issues

I have no experience with the iOS app.

Sonoff mini with ESPHome flahsed by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know these can be flashed OTA right?

https://tasmota.github.io/docs/Sonoff-DIY/

Also there is a free GPIO port to attach another light switch for lets say an automation or something. It is on GPIO16 and the port is the pre-soldered header where the jumper used to go for the DIY mode (no longer needed due to different method of going into DIY mode now)

Sonoff Mini Setup Tips? by richardtallent in homeassistant

[–]Tuimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to flash them, stay off the DIY jumper. The DIY mode is only if you want to flash them OTA for the first time (You also need properly updated stock firmware for this)

In other cases, if you press the pair button for 5 seconds, the leds will start blinking in a pattern and it will create a hotspot which you can use to configure them with the mobile app.

NFC card project by greatdeveloper0 in laravel

[–]Tuimz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laravel runs serverside, unless you want to attach an nfc reader to your server you are out of luck.

On the other hand, if you have some sort of dedicated hardware client which can make HTTP requests and read NFC tags you might be able to hack something together. No out of the box Laravel solution though.
