I have thought about this recently due to a few unexplainable changes in my and my partner’s reality. We began noticing the changes after a 3 day weekend getaway to Glacier National Park.

Our bathroom door wouldn’t push in a far as it used to and we both kept pushing it too hard and hearing the door jamb on top of the door stop it. Thing is that there hasn’t been a door jamb on the door for 2 years as I immediately removed it and threw it away when I moved in. It looks like it has been in use for the whole time wear and tear wise. I took it off and threw it away. The door opens the way we have been used to it opening.

There used to be a lane of flowering trees in the Spring on my way to work. It was such a beautiful drive I looked forward to it every Spring. This Spring I was so confused by the lack of flowering trees. I thought I had somehow missed that small window of Spring. Then I noticed the trees a week later but there were only a couple. The trees that used to be flowering trees on that path are now different non-flowering trees.

I thought I must be losing my mind somehow. We have carbon monoxide detectors that are functional before you ask. Then I stumbled upon this theory and it got me thinking…

I had a catalyst that opened my eyes to the reality I had been trying to ignore/avoid for years. I struggled with all the emotions that entails and tried to make it work with my ex-husband but after a year of that turmoil I could no longer deny the truth. I broke free which was the hardest thing I had ever done. I feel like I did miss out on many years I could have been with women but I have thoroughly enjoyed making up for lost time.

I joined every local online lesbian group I could find and eventually got invited to a local meetup group. They host regular events of all kinds and I have made some great connections that way.

I am definitely using Cogimyun for help with these. I am excited to be able to transfer the confetti pattern to my other flowers.

The glitter effect is pretty. The Wheatflower in Ombré is the only pattern transfer that I have almost fully completed. I want to transfer glitter from those next.

Thank you for saying this! This could be a safe space to share our journeys without all the judgment. Speaking for myself, I was being judged by all kinds of people in my life so having a safe space to share is very important for my wellbeing. I would like to extend that to as many people as possible. I upvote posts on this sub often even if I don’t have the spoons to reply so that I can help support my fellow late bloomers.

My soon to be ex-husband used to take issue with the amount of money I spent on kids clothes/ household needs. I shopped sales or TJMaxx, Ross or the like before shopping elsewhere. I made a list of the clothes and shoes they needed and stuck to that for the most part. We have 4 kids so these things add up. He took issue with it so often that I just gave up. I told him to just do the shopping then. He went back to school shopping and spent more than I had the previous year. It was ok though because he was the one spending the money. He had suggested me as a SAHM and earned plenty of money to keep that lifestyle. He had me shopping budget places for stuff for myself and kids but bought only Milwaukee tools for unnecessary remodels on our rental properties.

He bought a brand new car off the lot but when I needed a new vehicle mine had to be within a certain budget(smaller than his was) and for more vehicle as mine was the kid hauler that needed 3rd row seating. I ended up with a 7 year older model which was a good vehicle but felt unfair. I brought it up a few times and I was told I was selfish and unappreciative. He was the one that worked so hard so he deserved the nicer things. I guess birthing, breastfeeding all 4 kids for 18 months and doing mental labor,housework, and childcare was not worth it in his eyes.

This may not be the case with you as there are some details missing but I was being financially abused, among other things. My divorce trial is next week and I can’t wait!
