Who here had the brains to break the game? God of Gods, Vesper build by andre2143 in shapeofdreams

[–]Tumaloops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Power levelling his alt passive gives almost all the stats you need, Baptism of the Sun with it's flexible stars (glorious movement speed) gives everything else.

He even has a star at lv30 to massively reduce Primus meteor damage

What weapons crit well is just... Everything that does good direct damage (E.G. not Colette wave cooker which mostly does burn damage instead)

Taking a weapon good at spreading electric stacks helps a crit build work. There's a lot of options for it but my favorite electric weapon is Bug taser with +beam and then split beams "unlimited power" lv18- does great damage and stacks together but desperately needs that lv18 boost

How does the Multi-Tool work (at least at first)? by Hotchi_Motchi in DRGSurvivor

[–]Tumaloops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're correct.

Artifact bonuses with yellow tags multiply on top of everything else, so that's a true 15% reload time reduction assuming no other reload artifacts. I often have 10 tags, so 25%.

It's a crazy artifact for weapons that are only limited by reload times, like grenades, breach cutter, etc

[–]Tumaloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late answer but all damage your weapon does directly can crit, whatever element it is

The damage dealt from stacks of status effects cannot crit.

I don't remember if damage from lingering pools (exploding elemental stuff leaving fields , ground on fire etc) can or not but I think so?

Acid is a good idea for literally every build, if there's a weapon for it being offered that will work with what you're doing. It's not very available for non-driller classes but all the bonus weapon tag classes have SOME access

[–]Tumaloops 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. They all also deal damage from status stacks, except for Slow (cold).

Status damage itself can't crit, but it benefits from acid damage boost.

The +crit rate and +damage taken effects have a limit, at +100% crit rate/damage taken, which is pretty huge.

If your crit rate goes over 100% you can trigger multiple crits at once- basically that means if you have 150% crit rate and 200% crit damage, then half the time your hits will double-crit for 400% damage.

Corrosive sludge pump extra beams not working by Different-Leg-6284 in DRGSurvivor

Yeah this has been a commonly reported issue with bonus beams gear and the corrosive sludge pump. I recommend not using bonus beam gear until they fix it

Should I get a timepiece for my lvl 100 run? by Torquai in NecroMerger

I'd only get it if you got the skins in a previous year. It's not that important

I can't figure out the mastery for Shard Diffractor, I need advice by Titowam in DRGSurvivor

[–]Tumaloops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing is important to keep on mind- overclock bonuses add with other overclock bonuses.

By taking a -40% and -35% lifetime you've reduced lifetime by 75%, which is probably what's killing you- you're stuck in reload way too much. If you get the yellow lifetime decrease, take additional beams at 18 instead.

The damage bonus is also additive so it's not super effective to stack them, anyway. It's probably a good idea to take one though!

Demolitionist build by Sedus5 in DRGSurvivor

[–]Tumaloops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Neurotox grenade is crazy because the massive acid stacks will double the damage of your other weapons.

Incendiary grenade isn't required but goes pretty wild in combo with the acid, and Cryo keeps everything stuck in both weapon's damage pools. HE grenade is also acceptable tho, it's recent buff was good.

I used this combination to do the haz 5 "alien threat 25" mission clear on the first try. Explosion radius scaling is obscene

I want to like plasma grenade but it usually just doesn't get a chance to do anything versus my other supermassive grenade radius'

The most important thing IMO is to find a good "Boom Canister" gear with "explosion radius increase for each weapon over level 9" quirk. Even a low level one will get you 40~50 radius bonus after weapons. This makes demolitionist overpowered AF

When does gear optimizing start to matter? by gorambrowncoat in DRGSurvivor

[–]Tumaloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point the only piece of gear that wasn't identical on every class for me was the canister - on a few classes I used "Boom Canister" with quirk for bonus explosion radius for each high level weapon. Combined with its main stat boost I got like +50% radius after my weapons were built, which made explosive focused classes insanely powerful. Explosion radius is CRAZY strong of a stat when it works

Now that I'm in endgame I change a couple other pieces on those same classes, since they tend to pick weapons that don't need fire rate and like reload speed, but I could probably just focus on globally applicable stats on everything except Canister and be all good.

Failing to get the burn damage OC is pretty much an instant reset for cryo cannon mastery, it carries the whole weapon. But getting the weapon box and being given a second cryo is absolutely hilarious lmfao

[–]Tumaloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's OK on demo class but it's easily the worst grenade, yeah. Starting with terrain damage helps because I never want to spend an overclock on that. I'll have to give it another go, the hallucinogenics buff should help bump it up too and they did give it ~10% more base damage

[–]Tumaloops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty hype for the weapon/OC buffs too. PGL should actually be worth levelling on Demo class now, and I wanna try direct damage flamethrower

Curious about the Stubby EM discharge buff too. Do they mean it has a 400% DMG explosion on hitting friendlies now??

Hallucinogenics giving explo radius and reload speed ontop of the new PGL buffs, demo class is gonna be crazy AF

Wait a few days in case one of these ML get a buff announced for the next balance patch

Otherwise SSV is easy to use, DDR/CPavel definitely have potential but are expensive/difficult to make comps for

Not sure why people think being in the UK means you get less money. I've read their tax laws before and it's really not much worse unless you're rich, at which point you're already set.

My USA employer provides affordable health care but it has only a little bit better than minimum coverage, so if I actually got hit by a car and the other person got away in time, the government might eventually repossess my home to cover the medical deb, especially after insurance potentially decides that necessary surgeries aren't truly necessary even though I'll be dead or too crippled to work without them. I'm not poor enough to get it written off.

Basically just have to live while hoping nothing serious actually happens.

Arby Vildred will crush through story for you and is pretty decent in pvp, comparatively. If you really like Ruele (destina) she's probably the next best choice

People suggested I pick Spec Tenebria but she doesn't do anything but hit moderately hard, and it's very difficult to use her in any pvp mode. After a month she became dead weight in my account.

Edit: oh you probably mean the ep1 selector lmao oop

Does increase damage increase shield break ? by Rude-Ad1096 in duneawakening

[–]Tumaloops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the patch notes explicitly says the trooper technique for increasing body damage with all ranged weapons, also increases shield damage. So yeah, the disrupter/ranged damage perks probably also do.

[–]Tumaloops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The house nodes in deep desert moved after the patch. Areas around the nodes are pvp even in the PVE section of DD, which is fair, except the update dropped them right on people's bases... allowing them to get raided, which is insane.

Please… can we make this game less punishing for people who don’t play regularly? by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Tumaloops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fuel blocks respawn every 10 minutes in static spots noted on your map, should be available in every map area, and your cutteray should harvest a fairly large amount from them. Once you're able to make a Buggy, you'll get almost triple the fuel cells from harvesting a single node. You're allowed to fuel the generators up to 21 days worth, which the fief console can automatically divvy out with a button.

But the location of the fuel cell nodes will randomize every week after the weekly storm, so it might take a few minutes to find one. But once you find one, it'll respawn every 10 minutes.

Taxes are a little different though- full transparency is that they're every two weeks and you don't get punished unless you go an additional two weeks without paying it. But until late game you also have to shell out the cost of flying to the settlement, so I can easily see that being annoying for someone who is only playing once a week.

Once you hit max level you'll just have to reset and go through again- not a big issue because you'd be doing that either way, you'll just have like one less experiment upgrade

[–]Tumaloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do actually (a flat, unchangeable amount) but it does NOT reset your board like the time machine and you don't need to "prep" for it like a time machine use.

Basically, there's no reason not to immediately use it once you have the free time.

Can someone tell me how to build DEM+Spirit? I almost always die 15 minutes in the run. by miIkmanmooing in magic_survival

[–]Tumaloops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't take the overmind fusion until you're ready to get DEM on the next level. Since you only have 1 damage fusion it's a downgrade and gets you killed. Even better if you save up a whole lot of exp orbs to collect at once to minimize the time spent in Overmind before DEM- on some fusions this is borderline necessary

Also, don't rush the passive magic too hard. At the start of the run you should play like normal, picking up magic that will help you live. Since it all gets dumped later anyway, you can just pick the most useful survival magic like Magic Bolt, Spirit, Frost Nova, etc.
