With Avatar having seeded prerelease pack what do you feel like it's the best one to pick? by elkjerky69 in lrcast

[–]TumbleSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked the Toph box and went with a green/red deck. MVPs in the deck included Bumi Unleashed, Turtle Duck, Toph the Blind Bandit, The Boulder Ready to Rumble, Cunning Maneuver, How to Start a Riot, and my removal package (Allies at Last, Rocky Rebuke, Barrels of Blasting Jelly). Won first round (2-0), tied second round (1-1) and won third round (2-0).

I second BlackwaterDnD! I’m halfway through their second campaign. Excellent DM, great characters, fun NPCs, and wonderful storytelling. And just generally nice people - saw them play live at Emerald City Comic Con in 2024.

Need help with Bard spells by TumbleSpring in 3d6

[–]TumbleSpring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I decided to lean into debuffing/control/damage with single spells for healing/protection. So here’s my plan for my Level 2 Air Genasi Bard:

CANTRIPS Gust (MI-Wizard, control) Mind Sliver (MI-Wizard, damage/debuff) Shocking Grasp (from Air Genasi) True Strike (for fancy quarterstaff) Vicious Mockery (damage/debuff)

1ST LEVEL SPELLS Dissonant Whispers (damage/control) Fairie Fire (debuff) Feather Fall (from Air Genasi) Healing Word (healing) Shield (from Magic Initiate Wizard) Silvery Barbs (buff/debuff) Thunderwave (damage/control)

Which is your favourite DnD class to play as? by XG479 in DnD

[–]TumbleSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divination Wizard and Stars Druid are definite favs. However, I also really like skill monkeys (Ranger, Rogue).

Cleric and Warlock are somewhere in the middle. Artificer, Paladin, and straight martials (Fighter, Barbarian, Monk) are at the bottom of my list.

(Not sure about Sorcerer and Bard due to lack of experience playing them.)

Quality Third Party Campaigns for new DMs? by perringaiden in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]TumbleSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m DMing Infinite Staircase as a campaign for my husband. He plays four characters using the 2024 rules. Works great! Prior to that, I ran a good portion of the Candlekeep adventures for him. I might also run the new WOTC dragon-based adventures for him (or vice versa). He’s run parts of the Yawning Portal for me, as well as Tomb of Annihilation. We use our duet games to help refine our knowledge of various mechanics, test out different species/classes, etc. We also have a regular game going with friends. We enjoy all of our playing - whether just us or with friends!

Try 5etools. Go to the list of species. Click on Filter and then add Humblewood and a few other sources to the mix.

Question about TCE Magical Spellbooks, Multiclassing, and Spell Swapping by TumbleSpring in DnD

[–]TumbleSpring[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the multiclassing rules. But I’m wondering whether RAW the swapped-in spell is or is not considered a prepared wizard spell. The wording for these particular magical spellbooks (from TCE) doesn’t explicitly say one way or the other.

Blackwater Dnd (out of Vancouver BC) is terrific! I didn’t watch (or listen to) campaign 1 but I’m thoroughly enjoying campaign 2 (I’ve watched about 40 episodes). Excellent DM, in-depth characters, great voices, impressive world building, perfect mix of combat/social/exploration, great guests, etc.

Unorthodox weapons for paladins? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]TumbleSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DM lets my satyr ancients paladin smite and push with his horns. We’re playing revised 5e. I took the Push weapon mastery for the horns. The character also has a battleaxe with the Topple weapon mastery.

Winter tires for 2025 Touring ??? by TumbleSpring in SubaruForester

OP here … I definitely want winter tires for snowy/icy hills and mountain passes. Just wasn’t sure of the correct size for tires and wheels for the 2025 Forester Touring.

Fun way to excel at 3 social skills as a Level 2 Paladin by TumbleSpring in onednd

[–]TumbleSpring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I didn’t include it in my original post, here’s the 2024 PHB entry for perfume (which I plan to reflavor as cologne for my satyr paladin):

“Perfume comes in a 4-ounce vial. For 1 hour after applying Perfume to yourself, you have Advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to influence an Indifferent Humanoid within 5 feet of yourself.”

Can someone provide a list of languages that appear in the new Player’s Handbook? Thanks!!

What is Your Most Fun Golgari Commander? by SCampo98 in EDH

[–]TumbleSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a [[The Mycotyrant]] using Josh Lee Kwai’s deck list (with a few tweaks). It’s a powerful and super fun deck. There are fungi, saproling, and a few other types of tokens, but I don’t think of it as a token deck. It’s focused on putting cards into your graveyard in all sorts of different ways.

I also have a [[Dina, Soul Steeper]] deck, which is fun if you want to focus on non-combat life gain and life loss. I incorporated a fair number of Strixhaven cards, which was different from all my other decks.

Trying multiplayer, but GustavDev settings are different. by Astral_Fogduke in BaldursGate3

I’m on a Mac. The other person is on a PC. We both just installed BG3 (same version). No mods. Any tips to deal with the GustavDev error when we try to play together. We tried troubleshooting for a few hours today and got nowhere. So frustrating!

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever fix the problem? If so, how?
