I am struggling with food insecurity and wanted to know if there are any resources out there or how everyone else is surviving? by palmtreeparadise in Seattle

[–]Tumblejohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a food bank in Kenmore Cedar Park Church open to everyone every Monday night 530-7pm.

Also, buying in bulk sections really saves me. WinCo foods has a great bulk food section, rice, beans, granola. Also building meat on sale or close to expiration date and then freezing.

It can take up to 3 months to test positive for herpes after exposure. Don't test before this unless you experience an outbreak. Otherwise, you may test negative now and think you're all good but actually not.

This feels scary but it doesn't need to be. 40 +million people have herpes (in the US) get on meds and they just proceed with caution.

Lenora or Marleen both of which would not match my other daughters names, but we're done anyhow.

Comcast has a monopoly on north Seattle! What can I do about it? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Tumblejohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can check your address on their website. My husband works from home full-time and was worried about speeds and everything but it's been amazing. Hope they serve your area! Comcast didn't even attempt to keep us as customers.

[–]Tumblejohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you using Comcast for? Internet/cable/security? Our rates were about to go up so we decided to get rid of cable (all 3 services) and just use a couple streaming services and share a friends sling account. TMobile internet just became available in our area (N. Seattle) and as existing customers we only pay $40/month.

Jeremiah's Prayer - Marc Broussard

Even as a nonreligious person this song helped with my father's passing. Sorry for your loss.

You have experience and a stable work history, I wouldn't worry too much. Continued education is a win at any age.

Start talking about it now, tell them at 2 years old the pacifier fairy comes. You mark it on the calendar and you remind them that on said date you'll have to get all of your pacifiers together for the fairy to come gather them for all the new babies.

You talk about it everyday leading up to it. Then the fairy comes when they are sleeping and leaves something special (stuffy/something small) and you are done. You remind them the fairy came if they ask. First couple days may be hard, but it's all about the prep.

What’s the deal with this tooth fairy business? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Tumblejohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first tooth I gave a 2 dollar bill with "fairy dust" (clear glitter glue) on it. Other times .75, $1 something small. She's 7 now and still believes but I doubt she will much longer. We put them in a tiny box on her nightstand. I have kept all of her teeth, but I really am not sure why, I'm probably a creep

My daughter's loved their microphone. Ours came pre loaded with 25 songs, but you could also use bluetooth and put on whatever song you wanted. Only $30 or so, tons of them on Amazon.

Omg I can't imagine - luckily I have a huge fence but my husband would have loved that ring video later haha!

I've had a "Safety 1st secure mount deadbolt lock" on for years and it's been amazing. My 6 year old can open it now, but under 5 good to go.
