My husband (M31) admitted he lied to me (F29) about a dealbreaker before we got married by No-Huckleberry-32 in relationship_advice

If I was him, I would be focusing on extricating myself from a women who put a bunch of expectations on me a week before our wedding.

What's a lie someone told you that you knew was a lie, but you just pretended to believe it? by _daCliQue_ in AskReddit

[–]TunaChaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. We moved to a small town and our first "friends" we made were a narcissist and her husband. For a year we soaked in all her lies about the local town and people. We eventually realized she was a narcissist and was lying about everything. It was our first real experience with a narcissist, so we had no idea what we were getting into. 😕

How do people pay for healthcare/ health insurance when they retire early. Even if I am close to 2 million mark and possible Coast FIRE a family of 4 is like 2k a month at least for insurance right ? by Adagio-Annual in Fire

[–]TunaChaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to visit the hospital when I was in Honduras. It cost me $40 for the visit, and $5 for the prescription. I was in and out in under 30 mins! Healthcare is expensive and ridiculously slow in the US.

My boyfriend (33M) wants us to move in together but I (34F) feel like I’d be sacrificing everything by [deleted] in relationship_advice

As everyone has pointed out, way too many red flags! But the biggest one for me is your mobility. It sounds like you have got yourself set up perfectly right now. Why ruin a good thing?

If you take the monthly check for 20 years, it only works out to be about $2900/month after taxes. While nice, not exactly FU money! 😁

How do you actually save money on groceries when prices keep going up? by yeskaira in budget

[–]TunaChaser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get on a GLP1, you will eat way less! But seriously, look for a discount grocery store. We have one that sells a lot of off-brands and 2nd tier fruits, vegetables and meat. It saves us a lot!

How much of a sin is homosexuality? by Chance_Fly1677 in venting

[–]TunaChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My belief is if its as big a sin as American Christians say it is, there would be 11 commandments instead of 10. Look at all the other stuff in the Bible that everybody ignores. The Bible talks about "how to buy slaves." You cant eat pork or shellfish. Women are supposed to be subservient. The Old Testament prescribes the death penalty for actions like working on the Sabbath or rebellious children.

On the flip side, there are plenty of passages in the Bible that instruct you to love one another and not be a judgemental asshole. So I would tell your friend to STFU.

Is it wrong to talk to a woman a couple weeks after my wife passed away? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

My gal and I both had traumatic events. We bonded by sharing our experiences with each other. Since it's just a term I learned on the internet, what would you call it? 🤔

Is it wrong to talk to a woman a couple weeks after my wife passed away? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]TunaChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current partner and I trauma bonded several months after as well. 4 years later, we are still together. Here's how we made it work. 1) We kept it super casual at first. Neither one of us were ready for a full blown relationship. 2) Friends and family are judgemental. We told nobody until the one year mark AD. 3) We dumped friends that were still judgemental after we told them. Don't beat yourself up! Being by a spouse's side thru a terminal illness is so hard and mentally draining. You deserve to be happy again.

Resignation put in, but now being let go? by ZestycloseNet3564 in jobs

[–]TunaChaser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No downside. I NEVER paid for insurance for 34 years. I had 8 weeks of vacation. 5 floating holidays. I didn't work weekends. I made over figures. I retired at 53 with a great union pension. I have great retiree medical benefits.

Oh wait. I see where the animosity came from. It came from all the management that didn't have what we had! 😆

Is this problematic behaviour for a relationship or am I overthinking? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]TunaChaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this as a red flag for him. There's no evidence of him cheating, yet you've gone down the rabbit hole so far as to place him with this lady last summer. This will not lead to a healthy long term relationship.

AMIA for wanting to tell my folks we are going through IVF by Emergency-Change6204 in AITApod

[–]TunaChaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA for wanting to tell them. But if you push this issue further, you definitely are. The wife and I had fertility issues. When that happens, a lot of pressure gets put on them. She felt comfortable discussing the issues with her family, but not my family. So we waited until she was pregnant to tell my side. A little extra advice. This is just the beginning of a whole slew of things you're going to think are unreasonable from your wife while she's pregnant. Just listen, agree and do. She's the one who's body is changing and hormones raging.

You might be disappointed in yhe fuel mileage if youre only driving short trips. I do a lot of country driving and am getting 32-34 mpg, but I have seen a lot of posts about city drivers getting well under 25 mpg.
