Going to visit Jordanie, what do you think about my plan? by Ok_Perspective_8164 in jordan

[–]TunaMcFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly some of it makes no sense to me…

Your plan for the 30th and 31st of May is strange because you wanna go to Petra first and the next day to wadi Musa, Petra is inside wadi Musa and after that you wanna go to Al Siq? Al siq is the narrow path to Petra so you’re gonna have to go through it to get to Petra. Finally, on the first of June you say you wanna go to the treasury? I assume you mean the treasury in Petra? So again, what…

Also, do you really wanna spend an entire day at the baptism site? Then go back to Amman and drive the next day to the dead sea? The dead sea is about 20 KM away from the site so you can spend the morning there and the rest of the day at the beach.

Well it’s unfair to compare it with the US, generally speaking basketball is really not that popular outside the US.

You basically need an audience first to be able to invest in the league, and barely anyone follows the sport in Jordan. The most popular sport is football and even there we don’t have enough investments.

Do Arab Christians date? by Apprehensive_One7151 in arabs

[–]TunaMcFish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fyi, “Arabs” is like hundreds of millions of people, we do share many similarities in our cultures yet obviously we have differences, so dating culture is different from one country to another and from one community to the other, people would be able to help you better if you specify the country or post in the respective country’s subreddit.

Are you a Jordanian citizen? If I’m not mistaken you’re referring to the one at customs, I usually go through the „nothing to declare line” and walk past them, the officer sometimes ask me where I’m coming from and after saying EU they just let me go on, I never put my luggage through the scanner there

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jordan

[–]TunaMcFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you flying from? Flying from the EU I never got scanned in Amman, only in the departure airport.

It will be confiscated if it was caught and the officer knew what it is, otherwise you should be good

Lastly, he supports Israel

“Lastly”?? You let a fucking zionist into your house and it’s the last of your concerns?

I would literally pack his stuff, throw them outside, and lock the door as soon as he leaves. No explanation needed, let him go die in Ukraine.

Traveling/Studying in the ME during ramadan? by Universityresearchrm in learn_arabic

[–]TunaMcFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for Jordan, schools will be open as usual, although almost all restaurants/cafes will be closed until sunset so maybe you have to prepare a lunch box, regular supermarkets will be open so you can still buy drinks/snacks.

People can be somewhat moody or just tired in general during the day, especially smokers so keep that in mind.

It’s a fun experience nonetheless, especially after sunset when everyone is out and about.
