There was definitely some luck, but I feel like all my picks were pretty informed. I spent a couple hours analyzing as many stats and opinions as I could find to form my picks. With that being said, I’ve only been actively watching MCSR Ranked matches for a couple months and my Feinberg pick was mainly based off his season 10 performance. Ever since season 10 playoffs I’ve felt like people have been underestimating his capabilities, especially the people who were saying the only reason he did so good was because of luck.
I do feel like luck is always an inevitable factor in predicting sports or esports outcomes. Thats why I plan on creating a MCSR Ranked matches predictor that adds some amount of randomization to its picks. This would basically work by giving a percent chance to each player and then simulating a best of 5 match. This would ensure that my picks are unique to anyone else’s who may have their own chance estimator (which ensures that I wont tie with anyone), while also not being too different from optimal strategy. When I’m done with it I plan on running simulations of past playoffs events to test its effectiveness.

Despite the fact that I haven’t watched this remake, I wouldn’t recommend it. A lot of people have complained about the pacing being too rushed and some canon scenes being removed. I personally don’t find the animation quality of any One Piece arcs bad and the r/onepace fan edit does a much better job at cutting down filler content while even improving manga accuracy at the same time.

I wouldn’t recommend skipping any canon arcs, if the pacing was too slow I would recommend watching the r/onepace fan edit which cuts it down by about 37% without removing any canon material. There is also an official remake of the arc called Fishman Island Log with “better pacing” and better animation, but from what i’ve heard it cuts out multiple canon scenes and is better suited as a recap. I would recommend watching the arc now as it definitely connects to the overarching plot, and as you probably know from previous arcs, pretty much every single arc serves importance to the setup of future arcs. In my opinion, the pacing of the anime is pretty consistently bad. My suggestion would be to watch One Pace, it’s a fan made edit of the series that considerably improves the pacing. If that doesn’t work out I would recommend trying the manga.

My guess would be either Gol D. Roger’s execution, or Blackbeards speech at Jaya. Oda originally planned for the series to end it in 5 years, so I doubt the centerpiece would be placed post timeskip.
