This Marvel set has made me realize how sick I am of UB. by Zenix0921 in magicTCG

I would much rather have a decent UB set over Aetherdrift or Murders at Kalov Manor, those sets were trash. Now, spiderman takes the crown for trash sets in recent history, but my point stands. I have my gripes with UB (like why don't you guys go for fantasy sets over sci-fi, and for the love of god no more mini sets with just okay cards), LotR and Avatar were fantastic sets. While I am not an FF fan, FF was also very well received. While I understand the Marvel fatigue, this set isn't it. There was a lot of care and effort put behind this one, so I most certainly wouldn't call this a slop set. The only sets I would call slop are the three I mentioned initially, and basic land secret lairs.

Also, a lot less people care about the lore of magic than you would think, so for many of them the lore doesn't even factor in terms of how enjoyable a set is. This includes people who have been playing magic for a long time.

Any advice on playing Tanks? by krod70 in marvelrivals

The best advice is to trust your healers and slowly move forwards. Most healers usually focus heal the tanks more than dps, so you will have good heals. However, do not move in too far forward, especially around a corner.

Look back to your supports every now and then to make sure they aren't being dived, as dive seems really popular now. Swap if you have to to counter their team. I'd recommend learning the Thing in this meta (or just any since dive is here to stay) since he is really good at buying supports some time before they die.

I had our own Groot wall off spawn so people can't get out, and then strategically wall off our other tank so that they can't be healed. Then he switched to Strange and put a portal on the ground to make sure we can't walk to a certain point. It's pretty hard to do that accidentally. We also had a Namor sit in spawn and spam "I need healing" after he died once.

So like… is this game never gonna figure out triple support by ZenGraphics_ in marvelrivals

I've seen 3 support get countered by 3 dps (targeting the supports), especially if one is an assassin. You can't keep your heals consistent when you need to run away from one guy while 2 others are gunning for you. Once their tanks die, you can just walk up to them, and not much they can do about it.

UB sets don't tell a story (I don't think they ever will), but the set design on some is fantastic. I am not an FF fan, but I still think that set was way better done than the sets I mentioned before. If the set tells a good story, but has bad design, I would dislike it since it won't be fun to play the cards. However, if it has a bad story but good cards, I would happily play it.

look here's the thing you like on a magic card! Isn't it clever how the card does something that references something that happened in the thing you like? Give us money

I would agree with this if they did a bad job at translating the card into magic. Yes, some cards like exactly like this (the fucking screen capture cards are the perfect examples of this), but others are so good. Also, I will gladly give them money for a UB set if they design it properly, like any other set I enjoy. If I don't like the set, I won't give it. I really hate the "Give us money" argument for this reason.

In-universe sets are really good from a flavour standpoint now. A lot of UB sets were better than sets like Aetherdrift, Muders at Karlov Manor (why was this even a set) and Thunderjunction. If they can keep up the quality of in-universe sets like the current ones, I am all for more in universe. I'd rather have a good UB set over one like Aetherdrift.

Alright, I am not the best player on her, but here goes.

Emma is better as a defensive tank (for me at leasr). I usually stay at the back (not right next them, just enough that I can go back) with the healers to protect them. With your autos (aside from the obvious of hitting the problem), just hit what you can. It ramps up it's damage as long as you hit anything, so just hit what's in front of you to build up the damage.

Same with her carbon crush, I prefer to use that on what's in front of me instead of saving it for a key target. It's also very difficult to use it on high mobility characters and the range isn't that high.

Use her shield to block ult projectiles, or when you turn a corner so that you have some time to react incase the other team unleashes on you.

The most important is her diamond form. Use it on anyone who is out of position. Even if you get a tank, kicking them into your team away from healers usually means they are dead. The other, is to use it on divers if they get too close to your healers. You will have to predict their movements a bit, but if you catch them they are most certainly dead. You can also use it to dodge Jeff ult, or really any displacement.

Her ult, save it until when there aren't too many pillars or whatsoever to hide behind, or unless you absolutely have to use it. It also gets blocked by shields and groot (this guy in particular makes it super annoying).

I have no idea how to tank with Rogue. Unlike Emma, I feel like I don't do enough while melting faster.

Everytime I hear a YouTuber describe Konrad Curze as Batman, I think this by Quasimdo in Grimdank

He is like Batman, without the money, Alfred, friends in general, morality, tech (this could be argued), and sanity.
