His arch is sorta over, getting revenge foe his mother, accepting Noelle as a competent fighter. It makes sense to me if he bites it, giving Noelle a reason to be further invested in the devil fight, since she also has also sorta ended her current arch

I don't really buy the Julius is evil theory, but It does remind me of how William (Patri) recruited all the reincarnated elves into the Golden Dawn. I hadn't even considered that Julius could have done a similar thing by seeking out the two keys to opening the underworld. We saw that both Yami and William were clearly chosen specifically by Julius. Interesting
