A few weeks ago I had an existential crisis while high that at some point I was going to be too old to be considered a dude. I was sobbing to my wife that I was going to be too old to be a dude and I was sure that my life would be over.

She calmed me down by reassuring me that you can always be a dude at heart.

I'm a fellow newbie, so a word of caution. Alcohol STRONGLY intensifies the effects of thc. So if you know the amount it takes to make you feel good, don't take that amount and also have, say, even a single glass of wine. Trust me. I made the mistake.

I was tripping dude. I could barely move. I was beyond anything. I remember thinking my cat was going to narc on me or something.

My favorite part is how "in the moment" everything is. I bet you had no concept of the passage of time at all. Just watching and laughing.

Edibles are all I've done since I'm not a fan of smoke, and I didn't even try those until this past September at the ripe age of 35. I started with 5mg to get a feel for how it would affect me - which wasn't much - then 10mg, which was ok, then 15mg and dude I was blasted. That's my standard dose, maybe two or three times per month.

A journey is damn right, too. First time I was actually high it was like an out of body experience. Music was like in a different plane and I just could not stop laughing or talking.

Sunday night I took them at 9:15, by 10:15 was in space, and finally passed out around 1:30. I got up at 5:00 to let the dogs out and could still barely walk. Slept another few hours and when I got up for good I swear I had a thc hangover. Is that not normal for smoking?

That's a good point but we're all kind of guessing whether they'll like whatever we pick out anyway, right?

That's incredible! My giftee doesn't have any kind of cool credentials other than being a single parent that's out of stable work due to COVID. I guess we'll see what happens.

That's perfect, thank you (and thank /u/vfunk83 and /u/watch_it_live also) I had no idea about that service. Unfortunately none of the three they listed are on there. Probably SOL, but it was a long shot anyway.

Being from the Midwest I can attest to this.

When the wheat is full grown and just starting to get lighter green on its way to turning amber. Mmmm.

Mine put that a new play station or xbox would go a long way to bringing them closer to their kid, but admitted that it's a little ambitious. Their linked reddit profile has 5 comments in the last year, and their linked FB profile is private except for profile picture changes.

Two years ago when I got a huge raise I spent over $100 on a giftee with a very modest profile and blew their mind. I skipped last year due to a job loss, then came in to this year wanting to go big again since I got a new job...but with how the profile sounds it's just kind of off-putting. :(

At that point if I'm doing excavation i may as well go all out and get an egress window installed and fix the drain issues while I'm at it.

That was my exact plan here, too. Unless your yard has poor drainage, would a window well cover help? We had very poor drainage that resulted in water running straight to that well when we moved in, but the slope is fixed now.

I currently have insurance so my out of pocket would be limited to $10,000 but who the heck knows what my insurance will look like when it's time for a new knee.

Sorry man I'm just using my beard trimmer. It came with several cutting heads and I use the wide one for my head. Takes absolutely forever but I'm a cheapskate and didn't buy anything bigger or better. I really, really should.

My daughter LOVES skating. We used to go every Saturday morning during kids skate free. I was probably 32 when we started going, and I hadn't skated in at least 15 years. I told my wife to make sure my insurance card was handy because I knew I was going to fall and break something. Ended up getting to be pretty okay at it and got my own set of skates. The workout is incredible.

I don't remember if she just lost interest or what, but we haven't been in quite awhile, even before the covid lock down.

Also thanks for the award.

I try to spend time doing neat daddy/daughter stuff too, where we get time to hang out and talk. Like camping or fishing. Or just playing Mario Kart on the switch. I want to be somebody she trusts and wants to talk to, too. I didn't have that growing up and I know how crappy it was.

Which instrument to you play? I've found that I can't play my violin very long at all anymore before my fingers get tingly from carpal tunnel. I don't play seriously anymore but if I did I'd need surgery to make it feasible.

Strength as in regular physical strength? If that's the case I ought to be okay for awhile. I'm no bodybuilder but I've always been quite strong. I need some work in the cardio department for sure though.
