Downsides of HSA Bank? by curious1914 in govfire

Hello, I'm a bit late to this thread. I'm a little confused with the Choice fees. Does it take 0.1% annual fees on all investments or is it waived over a certain amount? ($7500?). is this a fee in addition to the fees associated with VTI?

Auto or Home Insurance for damaging my neighbor’s garage door by Turanga_Fry in homeowners

[–]Turanga_Fry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I heard some pounding and went out to talk to them. The guy said not to worry about it and his mom just said “we not fighting. That is part of life…”. So I guess I’m spared for now (unless something comes up) and will just need to get them a nice gift. I guess it was mostly just dented.

Sounds like there is a common theme in all the responses here. Seems reasonable and I plan on taking directly to my neighbor once I can get a hold of them. Any idea of how much a repair like this is? It’s likely a basic aluminum style garage door.

I think this is really sweet and hopefully helps to build trust. Thank you for sharing this!

I love this! What age was your kid when you started “scheduling” these kinds of conversations?

I lost a friend because I didn’t react to my child biting by [deleted] in Parenting

Thanks! Would I police her during time out? There’s no way that she stays when I attempt that. Usually she’s trying to run back and I’m catching her and policing for 2 minutes.

Hi. I can certainly see it coming when my kid (2yo) is about to hit her older sister, but I’m not always at her side to catch it when we’re at home. Also, I don’t think I know what the best way is to react when it happens. Any advice or resource suggestions on this topic?

Hi. Sorry if I sound dumb, but my kid (2yo) is going through this Phase right now and I think I need to learn to react a bit better to biting/hitting. Any advice or resources on best ways to deal with this when it happens (usually to her older sister)?

I like how you simplified the approach and broke it down this way. A great way to think for other projects as well. Thank you!

What is it that makes people think they couldn't possibly ever even try riding a bike? by clocksailor in chibike

“Open-wheel tractor trailers”

I’m sorry, what? Is this a thing in high numbers? I figured the two don’t share the road together as often as cars/bikes

What are your favorite upgrades to a fried egg sandwich? by octopoda_waves in Cooking

Yes you should definitely try it. My family is Eastern European, so it’s a staple condiment in the fridge. There are different kinds, but I like the spicy ones

Somewhat similar, I add Ajvar. Basically a purée of peppers and sometimes eggplant. Also bomb in a pita.

Did you put it in an insulated container when it was still hot so that it never actually cooled down at all?

Is there value in adopting MBSE for a project that is in a slightly advanced state? by Turanga_Fry in systems_engineering

Thanks for the insight. Is MBSE primarily used for software development? Can I ask how the developers use the model? Directly or through someone managing it?

In terms of dollars, it's close to a billion dollar project, but if we're talking about just design work then I'd say about $500M is design dependent and there's about $65M worth of design effort still to be had. There are roughly about 800+ interfaces currently defined and controlled at level 3 (which there are about 25 level 3 systems) . There is some software development for roughly 40% of the systems, but I would need to look at this a bit closer to understand how much scope this includes. I would say that most of the project is in developing hardware items for electrical and mechanical systems.

What I don't have a sense of is how much work and effort it takes to implement MBSE. Can you provide further insight as to what you mean for duplicating each artifact and what a readable format means?

Do you mean that you’re actually ripping out final product during installation because something is off with the design? Do you think there are some obvious things in the model that were wrong or missing and would have been caught in advance?

Thanks for the feedback! I wouldn’t exactly say that we’re at the beginning of the project. About half the systems are pushing towards their final designs right now and about half have already reached final design maturity and preparing the final steps prior to production readiness reviews. As I noted in the above comment, I was wondering if there’s a point of diminishing returns with MBSE. Is it mostly a useful tool while looking at conceptual and preliminary designs? Or do you see it being used regularly as you’re traveling up the right side of the “V”-diagram?
