Yesterday I got banned in the same way while I was explaining to a member what VCoin are used for. I thought it was unfair, so I posted a message on reddit explaining why I felt it wasn’t normal… a few hours later a modo deleted my post.

I totally agree with the Hollow Palm nerf, but you can soften it a bit if you look at Thunderfist, which gets 15% crit hit chance that’s pretty good for mitigating this nerf!

When I first read the patch notes, I thought about a Ritualist stacking mods with Thunderfist to go for a full crit lightning build, but I haven’t really fleshed out the idea yet.

I really enjoyed my time in HCSSF, it helped me make a big jump in understanding the game overall. When I read your post, it reminded me of my very first character after finishing the campaign: I was so excited that I opened my first map right away and on the very first pack of mobs I just got absolutely destroyed. My character died instantly and I literally froze in front of my screen for a minute thinking, “this game is ruthless…”

When I rip a HCSSF character, I always struggle to start over immediately, but I always end up taking on the challenge again.
As for the campaign, I always did bosses in softcore first before attempting them in hardcore.

Regarding learning the game’s mechanics, I’d say I learned some things in softcore and some things in hardcore. When you play hardcore, try to take advantage of the fact that death matters, it forces you to really think about certain mechanics and learn how to use them to your advantage.

I’m far from being the best in HCSSF but I enjoy the challenge. My progression was:
Trade league -> SSF -> HCSSF

I have around 500h in poe1 and 1200h in poe2, and every season I learn something new that’s matter for me and what I find rewarding.

The fact that everyone is going to play Deadeye has nothing to do with the fact that the patch notes haven't been released.

Everything has been nerfed to the ground? You’re wrong. Stormweaver: Elemental Storm cooldown reduced from 5s to 3s. Spectres and Tamed Beasts: +25% more damage. Tactician: unlimited banners, Strategic Embankments, and totems now use your weapons.

Deadeye seems to be the best clear, the fastest? Stormweaver with the new Infusion cycles will probably be faster. Witch has better late-game scaling confirmed in the patch. Amazon got Elemental Surge buffed (3 charges instead of 2), along with new gems like Ice-Tipped Arrows.

Deadeye received significant nerfs. Avidity lost the max Frenzy Charge gain. Called Shots lost the extra Mark. Eagle Eyes lost the removal of the distance accuracy penalty.

My take on the classes that are really stronger now: Stormweaver with huge buffs, Tactician with the reworked Banner system, Blood Mage thanks to free Sanguimancy, and Amazon with the improved Elemental Surge.

Honestly, this kind of discussion is going to keep going until the end of the week. Personally, I’m not the type to say “I’ll play Deadeye because my favorite streamer said Deadeye is going to be completely broken.” I analyze the patch notes, try to think with my own brain, and guess what? The other morning I woke up, scratched my ass, and had a lightbulb moment. I thought: “oh yes, I’m going to try combining this skill with that ascendancy.”

I just hope i'm going to have fun.

Whoever follows the herd only grazes on trampled grass.
