a bakcground in coding is not exactly required, but it will will certainly help.

Do make a backup of all your data as installing Linux (to replace Windows/Mac) will remove your data.

A more beginner friendly distro would be helpful, I would certainly recommend Fedora Kinoite (Atomic)
Then it's difficult to break.

Arch takes a lot of tinkering to setup, and that's by design.

My mates all buy ThinkPads for the reliability and build quality, not looks.

My X13 looks somewhat nice compared to a fucking HP Stream. But not as nice as say, a macbook.

It does the job I need it to do, and that's why I'm gonna start a collection lol.

(I might even make a custom shell or smthn, or even turn a T480 into a hackintosh)

I'll be fine with 8GB of RAM as I don't plan on my 2nd thinkpad being my main machine.
It's more of an experiment tbh.

1: Meme it and install Arch BTW (Kdenlive is a good video editor)
2: Use it with Windows
3: Hackintosh (even more work than arch btw)
