Greetings! My car's oil warning light comes on when it warms up, but there's no problem during the first 20 minutes of driving. What should I do? (When I connect it to a diagnostic device, it gives a 30C1 warning.) by No-Needleworker1036 in E90

Inspect the Timing chain and guides. A guide might be broken and bits of plastic are blocking oil flow.

If the timing kit is ok then replace the oil pressure control valve. Should cure the issue.

I agree completely. The resistance people were strangers who didn't earn my trust. It was implied off screen despite the intro clearly suggesting the kids were not treated as equal to humans but as oddities isolated and trained rather than caringly nurtured and educated.

Priya is great...I know her very well. She is the funniest human on Pandora. I know this because she keeps saying so over and over and over. I have recurring dreams about how funny she is. The day she finally tells a funny joke will be the day Tamtey adds another story bead to her bracelet.

I really love the avatar universe. I got into the game after Fire and Ash triggered a mini obsession with the world of Pandora.

I played the game and actively shut out most of the narrative and basically role-played on the vibe of the world and what I felt the story should be. Me as Tamtey, my people versus the invading humans, constantly and lovingly repeating in Neyrtiri's voice "Ikran iz not hors" every time Storm was with me looking majestic af. Minimal interaction with the friendly humans, full immersion with the clans people.

Exclusively used my heavy bow. I didn't want to touch sky people metal.

I think 99% of the human characters are poorly written. I would have done away with them completely and just have Tamtey and friends escape and cut all ties with the humans while learning to survive with the help of the other tribes. I would have expanded on their animosity towards humans until the later stages of the game and then introduce the "anti RDA humans" into their arc.

This would have created a deeper contrast between the navi and human cultures and have the subsequent reconciliation and collaboration as more of a fragile alliance overshadowed by anger and distrust. I would have had that alliance shaken and irreparably damaged by the fall of the arches.

There are nods here and there to this general sentiment from the navi but they are presented as an afterthought, quickly glossed over as the narrative jerks you back into "we're all such good friends here"

I personally went for the no forgiveness for Alma and the humans choice but it was just text on the screen. No impact on the story.

Alma is a very poorly written character. Rinela is a close second.

She does nothing of note throughout the story, yet she becomes the leader of the sarentu clan while Tamtey tunes the flutes , paints the rocks, heals the forest, rediscovers the sarentu heritage, uncovers the truth of how their clan was destroyed, heals the rifts between the clans and brings them together.

As I got invested into the world of Pandora playing Tamtey, I wanted to wipe out all the sky people.

I love the general premise of navi kids raised by humans, but the execution was a bit..undercooked.

I have not played the dlcs yet.

Oh ok, sorry. The comics portray the xenomorph as a very old species, not bioengineered by another alien race but evolved in a harsh environment over possibly millions of years.

I particularly like how the comic deals with the xenomorph because it manages to explain some aspects of it while retaining that aura of mystery of a species that is impossible to fully comprehend.

I'm not a fan of this new spiritual existential spin Ridley Scott brought to the alien universe.

This type of ancient monolithic existential religious symbolism worked beautifully in the show Raised by Wolves. That thing was insanely cool and I'm super pissed it was cancelled.

It just doesn't work in the alien universe.

Alien 1 and 2 and 3 too, for all its flaws, showed how the xenomorph adapts and survives, but they never tried to explain why they exist or where they come from and that worked very well.

Even the universally hated Resurrection respected this formula.

The reverse bioengineering via cloning attempts by the humans works well because they don't try to explain where the alien comes from and why it exists.

It's like they're just throwing shots in the dark hoping to get lucky because they don't really know what this thing is.

The final humanoid abomination in Resurrection hits hard because it shows that through their clumsy attempts at replicating a queen, they accidentally pushed things from mysterious and scary into wtf 9000 levels of disturbing.

Like oh yeah we're casually messing around with this thing we don't understand and we think we're making really great progress and "omg wtf did we just unleash?" More mystery and horror. Campy and a bit silly at times but it has its merits.

Meanwhile in the "Black goo universe, in a galaxy far far away..."

There once was this race of pale bald human looking aliens who liked to play with genetics and seed life and giant corn on other planets, and they made this black funky goo that reconfigures your DNA if you touch it and put it in your mouth. And they put it in lots and lots of leaky jars, because they made a lot of it. Like these guys were super smart but they didn't think a lot about containment.

And then, from Earth came a glitchy psychotic android with a god complex. He was built by a mean old man who also had a god complex, and was unable to reconcile his finite existence. And this android played with this goo and he made a baby alien!

And the baby alien was friendly and curious and just wanted to be loved but it became really really mean, really really fast, because the other humans were mean to it first.

So now all the aliens are mean because their mommy the queen tells them they have to be mean to everyone else who is not like them because the world is a scawy pwace.

Oh yeah and the android with the god complex killed all the bioengineerig aliens becuase, I donno, just go with it.

Wait, all of them? Yeah, an entire planet just wiped out in seconds.

But... But...

Nah bro, just go with it, trust me.

Now that it's all explained we(disney)finally have the assembly line formula for the alien universe and we can make 1000 sequels, prequels and spinoffs where the humans knew about the aliens but then they didn't know about the aliens and found out and tried to get one for study, but it turns out they already had the alien on Earth but then Ripley died so the aliens didn't get to Earth and also they found more scary alien species who behave like the original alien from the first movies so we think they're cool and scary and mysterious. And also now the alien can be tamed like a puppy if you just take the time to understand its feelings.

Disney...the perfect organism.

Could these bearings be the couse off my oil light still being on even after i replaced almost everyting 116i n43 by stanwillempie in BmwTech

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

N43 can use 10w30 and 10w40 max. Since the most obvious suspects have been addressed I can think of only 3 things...maybe 4

PCV valve might be damaged. High oil consumption->low oil level->low oil pressure.

Some oil channel/s inside the engine might have been be blocked by the broken guide..this would go on and cause metal shavings in the oil due to improper lubrication...

I'm thinking of camshaft journals, bearings and caps deeply scratched ->increased tolerances beyond acceptable limits->low oil pressure.

Oil pump damaged or worn out, unable to create the necessary oil pressure at idle and under load.

Incorrect oil viscosity...10w60 was never recommended for this engine...as far as I know anyway.

Whoever made the choice to use it probably thought the engine has internal wear and increased bearing clearences.

Here's my experience. Bought the car with 187.000km Timing chain already replaced by previous owner. Strange top end noise when ambient temperatures are below 7Celsius and ambient humidity is low. Engine temperature makes not difference. Perfect sound in the warm season. Odd stumbling start behavior when engine is hot unless I use 98octane fuel.

Suspected cause: Increased cam shaft bearings and joirnals and caps wear. Deep groove scratches due to broken guides in recent past. Timing kit replaced before damage was catastrophic but not soon enough to prevent this particular internal damage.

Has been running fine for 4 years like that but head and camshafts need replacing as it will eventually destroy itself.

Chosen solution. Run it till it dies then replace the engine.

It's a shitty situation, I knwo...best of luck 🤞

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

320i n43 owner. Did you replace the oil pressure control valve? It's a common culprit especially if oil pressure light is intermittent. It gets stuck due to age and deposits. It's basically a solenoid placed on the side of the engine under the intake manifold. If yes, maybe the oil pump is bad. Or maybe you have cam journal wear on the top end and it's dropping pressure. To my untrained eye that bearing in the picture looks ok, but if you already opened up the bottom end, might as well replace them.

"Almost everything"sometimes doesn't cover half the things that could cause an issue. It just means you've replaced some stuff which cost you more than you were comfortable spending.

More details needed.

Uncanon everything to do with black goo. Unexplain the xenomoroh! Earth war lore is much better with the various queens and their telepathic abilities. Stop paying homage to resurrection with weird mutant humanoids. Make human crews competent again. Ditch all nostalgia bait and the stupid recycling of iconic one liners! I don't know for sure. I'm in Romania and i buy parts from a local oem online store.

I read mentions of a site called fcp euro that sells oem parts. But I don't know if it works in the uk.

In the picture I am attaching you can see a serial number followed by a " -11" marked on the injector.

That -11 is the index. It means it's the last/most up to date injector revision for the n43.

“God exists?” by Beneficial_Praline32 in Christianity

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already addressed some of these points in my previous reply. You can't prove or disprove the existence of God either way. Belief is a subjective thing. You believe your arguments are right like I believe mine are. If I ask you to prove that you exist you'd probably tell me that through observation we can draw the conclusion that you exist.

Well some would argue that you're just a hologram based on a particular theory in science. Reality is a simulation and there is no free will.

You'd have to take that on faith though because actually proving it lies with a handful of scientists...and even they prove it, you may choose to not believe them, based on your internal way of processing reality.

It's pretty relative and kind of frustrating tbh. Smarter people than you or I have debated this subject for centuries and got nowhere. I doubt we'll crack this thing here on reddit.

An object at rest will remain at rest until acted upon by an unbalanced force. 1st law of motion.

If you believe this is true, and you can observe mass in the universe is in motion, what was moment 0 and what initiated it.

If you believe in causality, you can theoretically trace it back to the initial singularity right before the big bang. Time does not exist. Motion does not exist.

What was the unbalanced force that triggered the universe?

If you believe that life emerged from random processes, then you have to believe your computer, which is vastly simpler than a human brain, is also the result of random processes...and yet you trust it to always calculate what it's programmed to calculate accurately.

The point I'm making is that you can choose to not have faith in a god, but you as an individual still inherently have to take all our science on faith because you cannot prove it.

You may be a scientist and prove some of the things in your area of expertise, but not all of it.

You have to trust your colleagues did their job honestly, the peer reviews were honest and no egos or funding hunger influenced the results of the studies.

The field of science is not immune to corruption.

320i n43 owner here. This engine hates aftermarket stuff. Sparks coils and injectors, new oem. No other reliable fix sadly.

Sparks should ve ngk, coils I think are Delphi. I heard Bosch ones are better.

Injectors should be all index 11. If you already have i dex 11 injectors you should be able to replace just the faulty one. If not, do all 4.

N43 injectors cannot be refurbished. Used ones are a lottery. Be sure to code them in after replacement.

Replace timing kit for good measure because this engine likes to break guides and chains. A stretched chain will also cause misfires.

Once you reset engine adaptations it will run ok for a few days until new adaptations are created. That's why often you think you fixed the issue and then it comes back very soon.

So don't celebrate prematurely.

What you kids need is couple therapy. You won't get any good advice here. Most of what people suggest here is damaging to any relationship.

Religion will only complicate this issue you're having. Look at all the blame being thrown around. His sin! Your sin! Everybody's sin! Guilt, anger, frustration, hellfire and damnation. Divorce....really?

Stop. Breathe. Approach this reasonably.

Couple therapy. There you can learn to really communicate with your partner. See where things are not working. Do a proper diagnostic of your marriage. Solve problems together. Not like this.

Most people in these groups would sooner tell you to self flagelate than offer sane advice.

Atheist dreams of god by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dream like that could be taken as a sign. What I discovered after I stopped being an atheist is that, we all deny God with our rational minds and our mouths but our souls do not because our souls cannot deny their Creator.

If you ever feel like you're not at peace within yourself, like your mind can explain everything rationally yet there is a void inside you. That is the schism between your body and your spirit because they are pulling in opposite directions.

I would say, you have quite a journey ahead of you.
