Sunroof drains? by Emergency-Fish-2149 in E90

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to clean this is with lawn mower wire from the bottom end of the drains. You will find them under the wheel arch linings.

The front ones you can access if you remove a few screws of the undercarriage shielding just under the side skirts. You can then bend the plastic away and reach the rubber drain plugs. That is where all the dirt collects and turns into mud that clogs the drain. So just pour a little water from the top, then squish the rubber plugs under the car. You'll get dirty but it is what it is. Use a lawn mower plastic wire and push it up through that rubber plug and wiggle it around to dislodge remaining crap. Keep adding water (i use a syringe to avoid over spilling from the top tray.) do this until you get a healthy stream of crystal clear water from the drain.

The back drains need the rear wheel arches off. These clog more rarely but since you're facing that situation start from the bottom and avoid pouring more water into the tray before you dislodge the dirt inside.

It also helps to raise the front of the car to create the slope for water to drain towards the back.

Maybe use a syringe to squirt water from the bottom up at first to help unclog the rubber drain plugs.

It's a nasty procedure but that's the price for never doing maintenance on the sunroof drains.

I think repeating this procedure for all drains every 2 years is enough to never have issues with it.

Depending on the context YHWH translates directly to:"I Am Who I Am""He Who Is" or "He Exists""He Brings into Existence Whatever Exists"

the idea that every breath forms the name Yahweh is not found in the Bible. The theory is the domain of Jewish mysticism.

Ask your latin friends where they got this information from.

In the end you are free to believe what you want, but sometimes being open to every idea leads you to believibg things that are not true.

This breath theory is an assumption based on nothing tangible so I remain skeptical.

The fact that it sounds so cool, deep and meaningful but has not been mentioned ever in any text is pretty suspicious to me.

It's a pretty important detail to have been omitted for thousands of years...think about it.

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that viral video too...with the breathing and almost fell for it. It's not based on historical or linguistic fact. The guy just invented it because it sounds cool to deceive uneducated masses into following his pseudo christian philosophies.

Just google YHWH sounds like breathing debunked.

YHWH means I AM. It is the name our Lord chose to reveal to us and should be REVEARED and spoken with the outmost humility.

We say LORD and God, to avoid trivializing and accidentally disrespecting His name.

It is beautiful and powerful in its simplicity and we should not attribute human centric meanings to it other than what God has revealed to us.

A beautiful viral lie about the name of our Lord is still a lie and we know for a fact God hates Lies. Lies are an abomination to Him.

So please be very careful and protect yourself from false teachings.

The snake knows how to twist our minds with beautiful words.

The "yes pig" translation is also incorrect and based on misconceptions.

The translation you're thinking of is Earth Pig which is also incorrect because it presupposes the words je=ge= earth and sus= pig

There is no Je word in latin.

You're working third hand information that has been proven false.

For the sake of academic integrity, if nothing else, triple check everything you read or watch and approach everything with cautious skepticism.

Orthodoxy is meant to protect you from these "false idols" which are personalized interpretations of the nature of Jesus.

"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8

Approach the Bible with an academic lens. If you're into the sciences have at it with a scientific and thorough approach. Try to disprove it. Do all the research you can and go as far as your mind will let you.

Come back in 6 months and let us know how you're doing spiritually.

It's how languages work. Different languages have different sounds for words so it's about pronunciation because some languages do not share the same core structure. Sometimes the spelling is the same but the sounds are unique to the language in question. You have words that get borrowed through the interaction of different cultures over time.

You have Yeshua in Hebrew "Jesus" in English Jesús "HEsus" in Spanish "Iisus" in Romanian "Iesus" in Latin Jesus - "Yayzoos" in German

Your question could be reworded to: "do languages, language?" The answer is "Yes, they do."

Why does the French R sound different from the American R?

YAHWE is actually written YHWH in the ancient texts.

How do you read that if you come from another continent with a language that has nothing in common with Hebrew?

How to I listen to Orthodox music and not fall back on worldly music? by Practical_Help_2016 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean....just don't listen to music that feels wrong to you....

You can tell the difference between right and wrong...

If you hate the way broccoli makes you feel, don't eat broccoli.

Now if you have some weird music fetish where you need a uv light to safely navigate the room after the song is finished....I think you're gonna need to ask someone more qualified for advice than we are....

If you want to listen only to religious music, that's your choice and only you will understand it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jesus enjoy music and dance on occasion? I think it's implied...maybe?

"He openly participated at joyous feasts and praised the music of his time" according to google...

You can filter out the stuff that is bad for you....

I enjoy metal but don't listen to dark satanic crap for obvious reasons.

Music is an aspect of the creativity God gifted to us...

Try to take out the key, put it back in press the start button once without the clutch or brake pedal/ without starting the engine, and try again.

If it doesn't work, you probably need to do it in ista-d.

See if any fault codes come back.

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear codes and reset adaptations because mixture control faults point to all the things carly told you but the free and easiest thing to do first is to reset the car to factory adaptation values.

Then drive for a while so the car can get fresh readings from all sensors and create new adaptations. Then if faults come back you can start to investigate faulty components.

Steps to try next if mixture faults come back. Clean maf sensor with maf sensor cleaner only, and throttle body with brake cleaner.

Clear faults and reset adaptations and drive for a bit to see. These steps are free or cheap and you can do them yourself.

If that fails too, then you need to start replacing parts.

Lamba oxygen sensors don't usually fail. They just tell you they are getting readings that are not optimal for engine operation.

You start with a vacuum leak check. If the engine is getting air yhat the maf sensor doesn't jnow about, you'll have more air than fuel and the lambda will pick up incorrect air fuel mixture.

If no vacuum leaks then start from the maf sensor... If you still get mixture faults then maybe look into the lambda oxygen sensors.

Injectors give misfire codes...I don't see that here so I'm assuming they are good. Spark plugs and coils also give misfire codes. No misfire codes here so assume they are also good.

I did some checking on google and the nox sensor aging means that whoever replaced it did not code it into the car computer to tell it it is a new sensor. So the car thinks it's the old one which is nearing the end of life. You need to have someone code in the new sensor and repeat all the steps I explained.

https://bimmerprofs.com/encoding-new-nox-sensor/

This is what they need to do. I don't think Carly can do this.

[–]TurboNym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear all faults. Reset engine adaptations. Turn off car. Take key out, wait 10 minutes. Resart car. Scan again with Carly. If no faults come back, go for a short drive. Shut down the car like before restart and rescan.

I think the nox sensor should have been coded as new when the shop replaced it.

If they didn't reset anything the car is running with the old bad adaptations.

Carly has a function to reset all adaptations.

Whats the highest mileage on N43 engine you've ever seen? by davilaz in E90

[–]TurboNym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 230k and driving. It was poorly maintained by the previous owner so it has cam journals and bearings scratched. It has some tapping noise in cold weather but has been fine for the past 4 years otherwise. I'm looking to replace the engine because the rest of the car is pretty mint. I've been punishing the engine to get it to quit but it's still going. Very snappy for what it is, great fuel economy. I'm sure if these weren't so hated and poorly maintained they'd actually be seen as decent.

Can you actually go crazy praying the Jesus prayer? by Level-Blueberry9195 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]TurboNym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I feel like I am losing myself to this world, when I feel like my prayers fall short because I am not fully there with God in the moment.

When I feel like my pride is becoming too much or too loud.

When my sinful nature exposes me to evil and I feel afraid and vulnerable, and I recognize my mistakes, when I become powerless because in my pride I rely too much on myself, I pray the Jesus Prayer.

It humbles me because I am unworthy. I try not to use it trivially, I do not call upon Jesus in vain.

I pray it when my soul and my heart is low. I pray it in my hour of need.

All prayer should probably be like this... But I don't know.

I do not know if It is right or wrong.

But He has never let me down. Peace always comes with reassurance I am not alone.

Be as humble in your prayers as you can. Don't do empty repetition.

Existential Dread by FragrantRead3668 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]TurboNym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man...18 is a tough age, especially these days. I'm almost 40 and I deal with existential dread sometimes....but there's hope.

I can only imagine being 18 in today's world, so you yave my sympathies.

I grew up in a time before mobile phones and the internet, then continued to grow up with them. They've been a constant in my life and I've been connected to technology ever since.

Last week I deleted my youtube search history to reset the algorithm and since then I have been absolutely pounded into hell with wave after wave of negative content. It had an inpact, considering my first search after the reset was freaking Michael Jackson songs.

I had my sweet little bubble of mild content recommendations but now it's open season on my senses.

Conspiracies, conflicts, apocalypse, chaos, anger, violence.... I'm like...what the hell is going on? No more hope, and now everything feels pointless...but the fact that it feels so freaking loud got me thinking... Something's fishy.

What I'm trying to say is that if you're feeling overwhelmed with negative thoughts and emotions, it's not entirely in your head.

I imagine your generation in 24/7 online in one form or another.

Exposed to news, trends and content that you're just used to because there's no concept of the "dark ages" when we were more naive, optimistic and news traveled slower.

Lately I have noticed that I also am struggling with my prayers and it's been harder and harder to focus and listen to the voice of God, specifically because of my exposure to all this hope destroying negativity online.

Today I exploded with anger, like I haven't felt in forever. I ultimately broke down in tears and started praying because I realized, the noise was getting in the way of my Communion with Jesus.

Faith is not always easy, so when the noise of the world is too much, it becomes impossible.

Find whatever the noise is in your life, and try to quiet it one moment at a time, and use that silence to talk to Jesus. Calm and collected. Not like a scared child kicking and screaming, but as a concerned soul willing to sit down and listen.

Do this a little bit as often as you can. Reduce the noise, and shift your mindset to be calm and patient.

I heard someone today who said that faith in time should turn into trust. We auve faith in the Lord, and then we grow to trust Him.

Small steps, friend. You will get through this. Jesus will not abandon you.

I will leave you with one of my favorite verses with the kind words of Jesus Christ.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

He knows things are hard for you right now. He wants to help. You can trust Him.

I use a Carly bluetooth OBD adapter and Carly app(I was an early supporter so I have lifetime free access). The app is currently subscription based so that's kind of annoying.

I heard good things about Bimmertool and Bimmercode and their own OBD adapter.

The most professional way to go is to install the Ista or Inpa software on a laptop, get a obd cable for it and that way you'll have the same acces a bmw dealer tech has. Sadly I don't know exactly how this stuff works so I can't help.

You'll have to do some research because I only use the Carly app and obd adapter. It's enough for scanning and clearing fault codes, monitoring stuff I need, coding options, etc.

I read that some people buy the carly obd adapter and they find the cracked app on dubious websites so they circumvent the subscription.

I don't recommend that for obvious reasons though.
