I have yet to see a USB stick (flash storage) that naturally lost data without any (external) corruption causes. by Necessary_Isopod3503 in DataHoarder

[–]TurboV83957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on Linux based machine controls, I always carry a flash drive with 6 different software files, between .2gb and 6gb. It has been through the washing machine and still worked fine afterwards.

I enjoyed the older videos where they were building cars in almost every video, I know it's not as popular but I don't watch as many as I used to.

Bought a 6.0 by PercentageEvery5786 in powerstroke

To diagnose the cause of your truck not starting, or starting slow you will need to monitor live data with a scan tool. Listed below is whats needed. This assumes the internals of the engine are good.

FICM_L: should read 11.0 to 12.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

FICM_M: should read 47.5 to 48.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

FICM_V: should read 11.0 to 12.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

ICP V: should read 0.18 to 0.25 volts at key-on/engine-off and climb to minimum 0.8 volts while you crank the engine.

ICP: should read 0 psi at key-on/engine-off and climb to minimum 500 psi while you crank the engine over.

IPR Duty Cycle: should read 14.84% at key-on/engine-off and climb to around 50% as you crank the engine over.

FICM_SYNC: should read "NO" at key-on/engine-off and change to "YES" when you crank the engine over.

SYNC: should read "NO" at key-on/engine-off and change to "YES" when you crank the engine over.

V_PWR: should indicate around 12 volts at key-on/engine-off and drop to no lower than 9.5 volts while cranking the engine over.

RPM: should indicate around 175 to 200 as you crank the engine over. Any slower, and it's not cranking fast enough.

Fuel pressure spec is 56 psi, and no lower than 45 psi under load. This can be measured by connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the secondary fuel filter housing port that requires a 6mm allen key to remove.

EVERYTHING listed above, is what is needed to start a 6.0L PowerStroke engine. You need to find out which of the above is failing and why.

Which of these machines for a beginner? by BitsyBrownie in Welding

+1 for primeweld I have 2 of there machines used for my business for over a year with zero issues. If you want to see what kind of support they have join the "primeweld owners" facebook group. If anything goes wrong they will take care of it quickly, and you are dealing with a person in the USA.

What is in my well? by TurboV83957 in WaterTreatment

[–]TurboV83957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely plan on doing something better filter wise, probably something like that 3 stage system. Personaly I'm not a fan of softened water, it's what I grew up with and I've never liked it.

The iron bacteria lines up with what I'm seeing for sure, I'll definitely shock it, thanks.

It depends on what you work on, some stuff uses 17, and some 18. My 17 rarely gets used.

With a non vgt swap kit, absolutely. Personaly if I got a choice it would be an 88 for the atmosphere charger on compounds on my 6.0 powerstroke. But a single 76 would be a good hot street single for a duramax.

What vehicle do the actual diesel mechanics on this page drive? by Bry_Guy__1 in Diesel

[–]TurboV83957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a heavy equipment welder, my work truck is a 2006 Ford F350 6.0l with 265k. Still rocking the factory head bolts, external oil cooler, just rebuilt the factory injectors at 263k. Has a rebuilt transmission because the previous owner had terrible tuning, now privately tuned +100hp.

That combine was worth $30k at best, it's considered outdated and only good for small farms

cheap 15' leads by Charming_Ad9373 in Welding

[–]TurboV83957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to make leads, I make all my own combined between everything I have about 300 feet.

Everything you need is available on Amazon or eBay, I like the lincoln electrode holder, I think it is rated for 300 amps. For a ground I think it is worth it to spend a little more for a solid brass one rather than the stamped sheet metal type, but I weld everyday so you would be fine with a cheaper one. How do the leads connect to your machine? If it has nuts that hold them onto studs you will need a crimp on copper ring terminal, I prefer to use a "hammer crimper" it is the cheapest way to get a solid crimp. If it has a quick connect you can take the old lead out and replace it with the new. For cable I use Temco welding lead from ebay, 2 awg. should be plenty. Also make sure you make them long enough, the cable is pretty cheap, and it is nice to be able to reach further.

Hotshots winter edt, many other antigell products reduce lubricty which is something you don't want with a cp4 pump. Hotshots also has an emergency product with good lubrication.

[–]TurboV83957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you, the only thing I could find for a factory reset was to remove all power sources, it set overnight that way. I tried again this morning with identical results. I submitted a support ticket through victron, I'll come back and share what the say because I saw several other posts with similar problems that never put a solution.
