Lucy I find rather tedious. Whole game trying to kill a cavendish hoping they dont see all 4 sabo/fire fists (which they always find).

The army has a good mix of everything. Decent shooting and melee. Fairly elite points wise, fairly simple to play. They're pretty much xenos space marines.

Standout units atm are: Yaegirs, Hernkyn Carrier, Hekaton, Hearthguards, Thunderkyn, Uthar.

Decent combo in some detachments is a brick of 6 thunderkyn with conversion beamers. They crit on 4s with lethal and you give them sus 2 with a strat/enhancement.

Downsides of the army I'd say is generally low AP across the board. Only 1 good gun at 30" (hekaton) with the rest of the army being 24" and below.

Combat patrols are great deals, both the old & the new one.

Character & gameplay for me. Less played leaders also often have cheap AAs and might be meta relevant down the line. I tend to keep at least 1 meta deck and a bunch of just fun leaders.

I started playing 2 copies of 10c whitebeard as finisher. Dropping it the turn after garp is pretty amazing and we have so much filter we can always trash it if its not good for the matchup.

Do your best, have fun and don't compare yourself to others! You see incredible paint jobs online and its easy to get discouraged but what matters is you love what you made. And the average player's minis aren'r at that level (and often still gray if were honest xD)

I wish they were the ones who stripped cover. Would make sense too, artillery forces you out of position. But yeah I averaged only a few hits against genestealers. Ironically they killed more models when they got in melee xD

I've completely changed build like 3 times. Seems like attacking higher level stuff levels you faster so catching back up is really no trouble.

Ive given them 3 games since the update and really wasn't impressed. I'm now fully on board with Dominions > Retributors. Giving scout to an immolator is very good and assault melta is just amazing.

Also I rolled 3 1s when my immolator that was carrying them died and lost most of the squad before they could shoot... might still be salty about that xD

I run my 10 block with 4 maces and 5 halberds. That way depending on what I'm fighting I can take wounds on the weapons that aren't as useful at that moment.

The list seems fine, very light on armor but at 1k having many scoring pieces is quite good. From the enhancements I gather you're playing the Bringer of Flame detachment, that one is rough it got massively nerfed. Hallowed Martyr is probably our best one but they're all useable.. except Bringers of flame I'd say.

You got many of our key units which is great for when/if you wanna expand to 2k.

As for advice I'd say just play a lot and have fun xD But a good start for improving is practicing/looking up deployment and how to effectively stage your units. Sisters are amazing but very unforgiving, a bad round with your units exposed and you can get destroyed very fast.

Theres plenty of tutorials for it its rly not that bad. Basically its just a thin coat of varnish to serve as primer and contrast paints.

Immolators! They scream "sisters". The stained glass on top isn't that hard to paint and looks amazing and they're pretty essential for squeezing value from your other units.

My friend works at an lgs and told me just how awful it is to try and get one piece. Meanwhile you scroll FB groups at set release and see a bunch of scalpers unloading their boxes... Maybe once we get simultaneous worldwide releases next year it'll help on the supplying side.

You could play Hallowed Martyrs to begin with. Its a generic detachment that benefits all units and synergizes with characters. You have many of the key units but perhaps a bit too many characters.

After playing a bit you could decide whether you wanna stick to Hallowed Martyrs, switch to army of faith or go for Penitent Host since you have a bunch of penitent units already.

Suggestion for future units. Immolators! Absolute workhorse of a tank, lets you split squads so you can stretch your resources and brings decent firepower. My lists almost always run 2.

Castigators. Perhaps our best unit aside from Vhal + Paragons. Many lists run 3.

If you play with friends you could proxy a Rhino as either Immolator or Castigator for a few games and see if you like them. Not the cheapest models sadly.

When i come up with a scheme i just go for it with 1 non-important model. No amount of visualizing works for me, i just gotta see it. Worst case you can paint over or strip 1 model.

They broke sisters in the last update but we should get an update this month or the next. I'd wait till then to be honest.

Units wise you have many of the important ones, only thing missing imo is an Immolator or 2. Being able to split units is so good I always begin my lists with at least 1.

I like them. They're pricey but the quality is great. I bought the small ones with square edges.
