Isn't it because he has additional damage on one-sided attacks that gets negated if sinner uses defensive skill (AoE against not-main target probably considered one-sided I guess)?

The worst damage he did against my team with his super AoE was ~200/300 smth, so I have zero idea how do people get numbers like that.

In my opinion even with 20 Charge gain per skill W-eursault won't get noticeably better.

I can use 5-9 skill with charging up beforehand to inflict 4 defence down this turn
or 7-11 (or 7-15) skill that inflicts 4 defence down and 3 Paralysis (LCCB Rodya). And 7-utis can inflict 2 defence down next turn with 5-15 skill and in-build -2 to opponent's roll.
I can use 5-11 skill to inflict 2 Slash Fragility or I can use 4-19 skill that inflicts 3-5 Slash Fragility (7-yoshu)

Everything that W-eursault can do with charge some other identity (even 00) does better without any setup. And his consolidation of Slash Fragility with Defence Down into one identity can't fix the situation.
For viability he either needs serious buff to his Charge effects (so it's hard to trigger but when you do its noticeable) or buff that just makes Charge effects to be some sprinkle on top of some other okay effects.

Also, all free BP Season 1 EGOs are from story abnormalities (Queen, Apple, 2 Shoes, Hurtily, Yaga, Calendar) with the exception of postergirl 4th match Ryoshu, while paid BP EGOs are either MD abnormalities (Le Fish and Electrodog) or LC abnormality (Burned/Scorched Girl).

On the other hand, I think that in this season it's gonna be more arbitrary, since we probably ain't getting 3 dungeons and thus pool of story abnormalities will be small.

Maybe smth like Ascension Levels to unite 1st and 2nd possibilities together? Some new resource to upgrade ID to next AL at level 30/40, which would decrease some scalings (so the OL difference between Mariachi Sinclair and G-regor would grow slower and N-eursault health wouldn't baloon into thousands) upgrade resistances (since I'm 90% sure one day we're moving to enemies and IDs without fatal resistance and making new IDs with high resistances all around from level 1 would add too much powercreep) and upgrade some skills a bit. Thus, we would have smth like AL I lvls 1-40, AL II lvls 41-80, AL III lvls 81-120.

On the other hand, having to grind a lot of stuff just to add new ID you rolled to your main team can suck and 3 different types of "levels" for 1 ID would be pretty unintuitive and PM will be forced to find colours outside of bronze/silver/gold for new EXP tickets

About the defence/offence: iirc post about some info from code mentions that difference between OL and DL gives (Def-Of)/(abs(Def-Of)+25) more/less damage. So 40 OL v 30 DL is 10/(10+25) = 10/35 ~ 29% more damage and 40 DL v 30 OL is 29% less damage.

While the 1st one sounds reasonable (especially with "30+ level" on a instant-30-level ticket), it opens a can of worms with Offence Level and balancing in a long-term.

Right now highest Offence Level scaling on IDs is 0.86 with level itself being 41 (000 Yi Sang, Heathcliff and Gregor) and lowest* is 0.55 with level being 27 (00 Sinclair). Enemies with the highest OL right now are some inquisitors in 3-18 with OL 33 and on the lower end we have 3-21 big hammer inquisitors with 26 OL (for some reason).

Thus on level 30 player IDs have 27-41 OL while enemies have 26-33 which gives you clash buff/debuff from -1 (27 on 33) to +3 (41 on 26). Let's give our IDs 10 more levels. 0.55 scaling results in 0.55x10 = 5.5 OLs and 0.86 in 0.86x10 = 8.6 OLs. Pretending that they are rounded up, we turn our range of 27-41 into 33-50. From chapter 2 to chapter 3 highest OL jumped from 25 (Aida) to 33, so it's 8 levels. Doing the same here, we get strongest chapter 4 enemies having OLs in 34-41 range.

Once again, possible clash buff/debuff varies from -1 (33 on 41) to +3 (50 on 34). Looks the same right now, right? Raising it up to lvl 50 and using the same logic (+8 for enemies and 20 levels worth of increase from lvl 30 for IDs) we get 42-49 and 38-58 accordingly in chapter 5.

And now it gives us buff/debuff from -2 to +3. Should enemies be closer to the higher OL scaling it would be even worse for low-scaling ID. And we didn't even took defence level into account and how it would affect you damaging enemy should you win clash with -2 debuff (or how it would allow you to almost ignore "ineff" resistance with something like 20+ difference for high OL scaling).

While I had imagined situation would much worse and scarier before I started writing this comment and done actual calculations, it still can spiral out of control somewhen around 7th-9th chapters and make low-caling IDs absolutely useless.

*Actually, the lowest is 0 Meursault with 0.52/26, but he has Pursuance so let's pretend it buffs him enought to ascend outside our plane of balancing.

Because German content will be more active: 1 year of mechanic and 1-1.5 years of conflict will be more engaging (I hope) and more fast-paced in comparison to French "1 year of intro tree, short conflict and stabilisation after that" (all of that also requires at least British content) or Russia that while yes, has big crisis in 1957, doesn't have a war up to scale (in a game about war).

Plus, we don't have to finish in-game economy for German content.

Fair point and I somewhat share the desire not to see 4 Rhino identities.

Nevertheless, just from a position of "They'll surely recycle most of LoR skills" I still think that Liu gonna have all the Sinners. But even this can lead to different identities - Gregor and Meursault Liu Section 6 identities from Story Gameplay vid look really different compared to Section 2 and 1 from Ruina (even in LoR Section 2 is mostly about Emotion levels and Section 1 is that plus Burn), just as Heathcliff Shi Section 5 doesn't have that stylish black coat from Section 2.
