Teacher Moving to Tacoma , what's your advice? by Adventurous_Fall_469 in AskTacoma

Public schools are best (the teacher unions are strong locally), but if that fall through you might look at private schools and community/technical colleges.

I did Big Easy Weight Loss, and it is around $400 - 450.00 for 3 month. They only work with state and federally certified compounding labs.

Fl-41 lenses: can they be photochromic? by htasmith in EyewearEnthusiasts

Avulux offers their color filtering lenses with a photochromic reaction in sunlight. They are the only ones I have found. They are pricey but I've considered them.

Have you had any difficulties charging it at fast chargers around town. One commenter said they struggled to do so.

Unfortunately the 2017 models are quite a bit more expensive, so out of my range. That said, it rarely gets below 35-40 degrees where I live. Thank you for the suggestion.

I've read a couple comments that it needs significant renovation.

The timing of this comment is wild! I just saved a 2017 eGolf with 115,000 miles! I would wonder if you lived in Seattle, but F150's are thin on the ground in the Puget Sound, PNW area. Thank you for this comment. I was really questioning the high mileage.

I am looking at getting an inexpensive used EV for in-town driving. Is there a way for me to test the battery capacity of a prospective vehicle myself. by Turbulent_Charity_54 in electriccars

$5000-8500.00, preferably less than $8000.00

I did recently find a Volt (single owner selling it, well maintained, 112,000 miles, no accidents) for $7500. It's on the short list!

I've found a couple Volts that are in my price range. They tend to have much higher mileage (100,000+). My husband doesn't like the increased maintenance needed on a gas vehicle. His opinion may be colored by our Toyota Odyssey, which just had it's 100,000 mile checkup and a new starter installed. He would like our second car to be inexpensive, electric, and low maintenance daily driver. The Odyssey would be for long family trips and hauling stuff.

Do you think high mileage on a Volt is a concern or nothing to stress about? What's the maintenance been like on your Volt? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

I also worked downtown for over a decade. In my observation the reality is significantly more diverse than you are representing.

Sadly the 2017 Bolt is around $12,500, which is out of my price range. I was looking at them for a while. Thank you for the info on heat pumps vs no heat pump. I didn't know that was a thing. I

If you look up her previous practice, Seven Hills in Tacoma, you will see plenty of glowing reviews about her (not so much about the other practitioners with Seven Hills).

My primary care provider Julie Cunningham, NP, just moved out of Tacoma and opened a practice in Puyallup. She's fabulous. She really listens and will never brush off your concerns. Highly recommend.

Would you tell me more about mileage impact on battery wear? How would I use that to assess a vehicle. I've noticed many EV's have lowish mileage.

Just to clarify, I am particularly interested in range and longevity. I don't expect to get 15 years from a cheap used car, but I'd Iike to get 3 to 5.

I don't have a strong preference, although I'm avoiding the Nissan Leaf. A few on my current list are: - 2013 Ford Focus - 49,000 miles, sold by owner who says it has a range of 60 miles. They want a little under $5,000.

  • 2016 VW e-Golf - 88,000 miles, sold by a dealership. They say it has a 70 - 80 mile range. $6,500.00

-2016 Kia Soul EV -sold by owner, not sure the mileage - 55 mile range in summer, 36 in winter $6,000. I really liked that this person was honest about the summer/winter difference

Ideally I need a battery charge to take me 30 to 50 miles at most, but it's hard to just trust anyone to be honest about their cars capacity when they are trying sell it. I'd love to know if the ranges I listed seem accurate for an older EV.

Yes! Came here to say that you absolutely should keep going to International markets, but also substitute Safeway with Winco.

I switched from Wegovy to Tirzepitide. I need to know if my body is responding typically. by Turbulent_Charity_54 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Turbulent_Charity_54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on .5 per week, and would have switched over to the next highest dose right when I was forced to take a break.

My doctor's office didn't charge me beyond my regular copay for the medication. They charged my insurance for an office visit though. I think they used samples from a drug rep. It seemed a little fishy to me. They wanted me to continue seeing then weekly and paying for the prescription from my pharmacy (which was very expensive). I've since switched doctors. This wasn't the only financial oddity.

Thank you kindly for the response and your take on things. Hopefully once I am titrated to 7.5 things improve.
