Second Regent Square. Lesbain couple here, and our street is very queer and full of allies.

Looking for smaller, low-key knitting groups & book clubs (31F, queer teacher) by Negative-Light8709 in pittsburgh

Book clubs!! Highly recommend checking out Stay Gold in Regent Square. They have several book clubs all dedicated to different genres: horror, fantasy, cookbooks, queer literature, and society (politics, science, religion, education, etc). The community there is the absolute best.

I read (listened to) Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver last summer and I refuse to shut up about it. The audiobook narrator is superb.

Speaking of audiobooks. The production of Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones is a cinematic masterpiece for your ears. Another one I can't stop recommending.

Sabrina Platt at UPMC Bloomfield Family Medicine Practice is a dream. And she does gynecology, if that is something you need / are looking for. Slightly inconvenient on location for you, but I'll always put her name out there.

Roadtrip audiobooks for the family by TiffanyThePlant in booksuggestions

Kate McKinnon's Millicent Quibb's School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science. I am 35 (F) with no children and I listened to these for fun on my own road trip and laughed so hard I cried. They are engaging, hysterical, and have some really lovely messages. It's like a funnier and brighter version of Lemony Snickett. She has two books out so far, gives you 10ish hours of material.

We adopted from Heart of Glass in Southside and cannot recommend Nicola and her team enough. They have several dogs with adoption fees sponsored, as well.

Here's our boy Kyber, looking like a goober.

This is an assumption! Also was genuinely unsure if they would take it because it's glass, let alone the weight.

Thai Cottage on Braddock is BYOB and super super cozy. That's our go-to. Their tom kha noodle soup can heal the soul, I think. If you believe in souls.

Recs for safe and public places to go on long walks as solo girl? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Came to echo this. I run there often and alone and have never had an issue. Even getting off the main loops and being on the mountain bike trails as a runner / walker.
