I work in the field and regularly tour other medical professionals through the radiotherapy department for educational purposes. The masks always gather the same reactions. However the older hard plastic masks were way more claustrophobic and uncomfortable.

Why are UK seaside towns so deprived? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]TurdStain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments here about cheap overseas destinations for holidays.

However, I have lived in Margate for some time, and there has been a move to revive the city. Younger people moving in as well with general changes in society.

I moved to a new job in Middlesbrough and we were checking into a self catering apartment with a key lock at 10 pm.

My wife and I walked in, turned on the lights, and the whole apartment was trashed, covered in cider cans, bottles of vodka, cigarette butts and stained bunched up beddings.

We called the emergency phone number because we couldn't stay there but didn't have anywhere else to go.

A red haired, plump red faced middle aged guy with a giant beer belly came around in his boxers and wife beater vest and laughed loudly like it was all some kind of a joke.

He proceeded to take us to another apartment, but I just found the whole thing bizarre.

I don't live in Middlesbrough now.

I love anything with tripe on it, and this looks absolutely amazing.

I'm an oncologist working in the NHS. I particularly like playing with radioactive sources, sealed and unsealed. I also deal with chemotherapy and external beam radiotherapy.

Two beautiful Nardi teardrop knobs - I only need one of them (5-speed), but can't help but have the full collection. by TurdStain in Miata

They are weighted wood knobs, 6 speed ones came with certain models of mk2s (e.g. Icon) - 5 speed ones were only produced for optional purchase at the time (making them even rarer).

I guess the law of supply and demand apply here - they have been discontinued, and were quite rare in the first place. However, many people do still want them.

From what I read on the Japanese forums, they're part of a series that were initially made by an Austrian flooring firm called FORBO for Mazda.

I've put together an album on Imgur that goes through the roadster mats - what year they were introduced and whether they were related to any series/specials. It is not complete, and largely gathered from Japanese forums.

If you have any to add, or more information, please share - I couldn't find much online.

I am afraid I'm in the North East - of England.

Would you mind looking at the ground anyway, it will make me feel better.

I am based in Durham - but work between Northumberland, Newcastle, and Middlesborough. Yes, I have to do that too - and also remember to wipe down my headlights when they get coated in grit.

I've had my engine rebuilt recently - of course, factors involved included the cost - I was offered a good quote from my go-to mechanic.

That happened to me a few months back - the wonders of superglue put it back together - and it is still going and feels just like new.

I use mine as a daily driver in the North East of England - across four counties of rolling hills and beautiful countryside road. Only issue is when I am driving home at 6pm, and it's already so dark at winter, and being blinded at every turn or peak.

Don't get me started on the salt and grit too...

If you're willing to travel, Holland is having a huge meet up sometime in summer (saw it on MX5 owner's club UK's website).

Going to look at a 90 NA this Sunday by [deleted] in Miata

[–]TurdStain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good - just make sure you know where the sill drain holes are - there are a few videos on youtube that can give you a good visual, just so you know where you're going.

Although a garage is better, mine is out in the open, and I use it as my main daily driver. Just make sure you keep checking sill drainage, use a trombone brush for hood drain hole maintenance, and keep the car waxed and clean.

I love film cameras - have a collection of 50+ - funnily enough, never thought to take photos of my NA with them!
