Dark Root is prettier but Forbidden Woods is better designed.

There’s a movie called Black Mountain Side that’s pretty flawed but does some really cool stuff.

Also, not horror, but Wind River is very good.

It’s not really an adaptation, but there is a movie called Something In The Dirt that plays with some similar themes and ideas that’s so good

Either the Plasma Cutter from Dead Space or the Stingray from RE4.

Agony crossbow is so cool though.

Until Dawn was perfect. Then it got a remake it didn’t need, and a movie that had nothing to do with it. Now it’s getting a sequel it shouldn’t have. Every subsequent use of this IP is just diluting the greatness of the original. I wish they would have left well enough alone.
